Lillis on 18:06 - Jun 12 by Banned4ever | we all know its not how you start a season but how you finish . did you start well then finish badly or did you start bad and finish well . Did he make a difference to the team. was your team stronger then? |
What on earth are you talking about? We started well, finished well, and had a pretty good middle too! Or would you not class finishing narrowly outside the play-offs in League One doing well? Very pleased with this signing. Welcome back Josh!

Lillis on 00:52 - Jun 13 with 1371 views | Daley_Lama | Brilliant signing, so far our squad for next season is looking a bit Englandesque, great keeper, experienced at the back and most certainly in central midfield, I'll echo my previous thoughts that JLAA aint the messiah and the one key component required now is the holy grail, the fellow to lead the front line with Grimes or whoever playing off him. After last seasons shambolic back 5 for 90% of the time, it's looking up.

But as we know, Coleman has usually gone with a front three with one central striker so although we may use a front two on occasion, it's not a case of getting someone for Donnelly (surely not Grimes now) to play off. And that's where JLAA comes in very useful as he's capable of playing anywhere across the frontline. He's also our best impact sub which is a bit contradictory as well! One thing he's rarely had the opportunity to do is play in a proper front two, and he'd thrive much more in that role than as a lone frontman.

I completely agree with that and am truly hoping JLAA does sign on for at least another year. We are now seeing the beginnings of a squad coming together, blending both youth and experience in the right positions. There's still work to be done but, unlike with Eyre, you can see a method behind JC's signings.
