Jason Levien has left us in a stronger position than when he took over? on 21:09 - Nov 28 by SullutaCreturned | At least you accept the majority on here aren't interested in your trust obsessed posts. What happened with the trust is in the past, the Levein/Kapaln thing is very recent, still news. That deal was good for the then owners, not so good for the trust and the the bottlers who took it. The trust shares got bought on the cheap which I thought you were against seeing as you always...ALWAYS repeat they should be making money. It's still boring and I don't say that as any kind of ruling elite, that is just an absurd thing to say. No poster on this board tells Keith or the Mods what to do, they tell us. We are just members with different opinions to you. |
I sorry you find it boring. I have no objections to you using the ignore button. "Boring" is subjective.. Jason Levien does not consider the Trust issues boring and gave them a major name check in his leaving piece in the WoL. I believe the Trust has been bad for the club and soured the relationship with the US owners unnecessarily. I'm even confirmed my view. The Trust cannot fulfill its be brief of it cannot grow. The word nest egg was never seen 2002-2016. It became a buzz word only after the sale and the threat of legal action. This word has disappeared again.

Jason Levien has left us in a stronger position than when he took over? on 11:00 - Nov 29 with 801 views | RichardO | Trust invested in shares in the club and their holdings devalued further with the extra share issued K&L and various investors shares likewise also lost the value of their shares also further decreased. ‐-----‐------‐------- This lost of value of the investors shares is solely down to the loss of Premier league status of the club because of the mismanagement by the controlling interest in the club. ------------------- Has the Trust lost money that their members paid in because of legal fees yes and they have also lost members or fans but so has the club. Neither is good for the club in the long run and it must have been one of the reason the Trust would stop the costly legal action, for the good of the club over its members wishes, you could say that the controlling interest is doing the same by giving away that controlling interest. Or is it a case of both both the Trust and K&L cutting their losses and running, sorry are the Trust still here, battered yes and need to build it's membership again, a bit like the new controlling interest in the club has to. Just remember members of the Trust who pay their dues are not in it to make a profit so to talk about investing elsewhere seems nonesense and the Trust invested and still invested in the club.

A nice piece. You understanding of non profit is not clear. It should make a profit but the the profit can not be paid out to stakeholders. It is interesting that the only people to profit are their lawyers and funders. The Trust should profit every year from membership fee and interact on a whopping £1.3m. most of it coming from the club in a dividend pay ment and the legal settlement from Levien and co . Dwr Cymru / Welsh Water is "not for profit". I has no shareholders to give profits to. It can invest in the markets. The Trust needs to find somewhere to invest within the model rules or convert to a body that can. They are like the dysfunctional family who won the pools and stats it was "the worst thing that happened to us" . A Welsh committee that wanted "protection" instead of £20m. Protecting the shareholding of the dozy members is not that useful to the club. £20m would have been if they were ever minded to r invest. [Post edited 29 Nov 14:20]

When the Trust turned on the club and proposed to take the of owners on a long and expensive legal nightmare I turned against them. They were wrong and way too arrogant to apologize. The members are not sophisticated enough to be owners of the club or humble enough to accept their mistakes judging by responses to my posts. They might do it again but suspect the "Yanks" have made them sign up to a good behaviour code. There you go another piece of speculation ( or making stuff up as it is called) [Post edited 29 Nov 20:09]

He claims to always be polite but he insults people by the thousand. he's just careful enough to not say anything worth being banned for but he is NOT polite. I don't pretend to be polite, I call a fool a fool and I know about fools because I look in the mirror every morning so I should recognise them when I read them. At least I am honest enough to admit these things. Dozy, arrogant, not bright enough, stone cold losers, all thinsg Res has called other Swans fans and he pretends he's polite. Pull the other one Res, it plays Oranges and Lemons.

The Trust were one out of nine or ten owners who are not owning worth £ 6-8m as a minimum. They performed poorly because of very poor decisions and a lack of monitoring and logic by the Trust members. Some Swansea fans are unique in world football in singing ethnic slurs against themselves. The fans body was going to take £20m promised to the club and give h more than half away to faceless funders from South East England. No one agrees with me that w this was really dim and the members voted for it. No one apologies or admits error. Levien has had enough of this and give the club to his mates for around £3000. He does not even get credit for that. Remember the new boys are the same as the old boys but in a different package. Swansea fans need to improve a lot.

you have posted this numerous times before. Please start an anti-Trust thread for yourself to allow debate and conversation to flow as nearly all topics now don't relate to 2015-2016. It is not fair to Keith that every thread is derailed by posts which are not factually true. You have an agenda which is fine. Keep it to one thread on this forum. Think about the people who gave up time to help at the time. Why didn't you stand up to make a difference?

My opinion is, it's a good post but it really shouldn't be needed. When it gets to a pont where a Mod asks you to refrain but you carry on regardless then you really have to ask WHY? I'don't know the number of threads he has derailed with his anti trust posts but it is boring and unwanted by what seems like the majority. It's not a ganging up, it's not a "forum elite" gagging him, it's just a general sentiment that he's boring the pants of us with his relentless one topic posts. So they do a trust thread and make it a sticky and he can post away all he wants on the ONE thread that is about whayt he wants it to be and he can leave the rest of us alone. Except there was a thread and people weren't answering him so he carried on regardless.

This is a Trust thread. Levien highlighted the friction caused by them as a major reason for their lack of engagement with fans and by implication them k leaving a whopping £69m behind. Less quality people would have said to hell with them and sold all the players and thrown the club into administration. One poster compared them with Petty. Kaplan has a good reputation. The Trust are a laughing stock even with their own fans these days but typically for the wrong reasons. [Post edited 30 Nov 21:16]

Swansea were an established Premier League Club. Scudamore would often use Swansea as an example to other clubs as we were so well run. A club that is stuck in a rut.

I said months ago that the way we were playing was the main reason for fans sloping away .t still is . Today, still thousands stayed away after a good show against Leeds then an away win. We should be asking questions and not see fans slagging off those who don’t or can’t go or won’t go until something changes What hasn’t changed is the relentless default walking footy that detracts from that which we do well. In other words, away from this forum, fans feel frustrated and do not share the love for thiis coach we have right now . Levein and Kaplan’s biggest sin was overseeing the total disengagement between fans and team/ club. That and pitiful loan players and acquisitions like t Joe a non and Petersen and Abbey .Dead in the water players . Money wasted . Fans have been treated with contempt and that takes. Long time to heal.

It isn't a trust thread - just read the OP title Whether you believe Levien left us in a stronger position or not is the point of discussion. Whatever the trust did or did not do has nothing to with Levien's statement Also my point about Petty is relative. Swansea hardly had a pot to pee in when Petty took over, but ended up with far less when he left and in danger of falling out of the league altogether We were a Premier League club when Levien and co took over. If I remember rightly we had finished as the 8th best team in the English tier the season before. Now we are a bang average Championship side showing little prospect of regaining and more importantly retaining our EPL status Whilst we may not have massive debt ( although all our family silver has gone) IMHO we are far financially worse off than when Levien and co took over. Good riddance to them I say

You are talking about three squad playyers not trusted by Willams What about Eom doing well Franco doing well. Vigouroux doing well Key doing well Tymon improving. Vipotnik and Bianchini are young and developing. The fans share responsibility for the breakdown buy the failed and ill thought out legal case by you know who.

You are missing the point. It is the repetition of your posts which reduce the enjoyment of this forum (which as I have said is unfair on Keith and the team). It is the same post about the Trust and the vote/no vote in 2016. There is nothing new which you are bringing to the discussion. And as you were not part of the Trust at this time it makes you less qualified to claim what did and didn't happen between the Trust, the previous owners and the new owners at the time. Thank you.

And Franco being treated appallingly by being one of the first to be subbed when he should be the last Eom has yet to establish himself I still think your posts are worth reading even if the majority do not . It could be the yellow card situation comes into the equation when Franco is playing. 4 yellows and he does look likely to get a second the way he plays.
