It's All Been Downhill Since Warburton Left 10:57 - Nov 9 with 1739 viewsNorthantsHoop

I know I will get pelters, but for me I really enjoyed the 3 years Mark Warburton was in charge with John Eustace. We actually looked like a decent competitive Championship side. I know it's all history and plan b stuff but it has gone downhill big time since 2021/22 season and this season could well be the final nail in our Championship coffin.

Give me strength (again!) The slide actually started, and set in, with Warburton. A man who completely lost the plot in the last months of his tenure, presided over an utterly dismal slide that in other seasons would have seen us relegated, and still getting the loved-up revisionism from far too many on here. Humourless, couldn't take criticism, every pre-match interview a blizzard of cliches, and is now lauded to the skies for a half-decent few weeks when we looked, misleadingly, like we might actually do something.

I know it's desperate times, but it's like wanting back with a g/f who stopped blowing you and forgot how to have fun because you're getting old and forgetful.

Any positive alternatives to offer?

It's a few years ago now.

Was one of the ones that thought the mutual decision to leave should have been negotiated but it's gone. It's like fans wanting Warnock back. When i was younger, I regretted a few "stupid" choices I made. I chose the wrong girlfriend. I got rid of the decent one.i took on the crap job.... etc etc....

Warburton is QPR history.

We were runners up in the old first division in 1975/ 1976. No relevance today, as well. The past decisions cannot be changed. It's done.

Think you get my point...

Apart from that childish vulgar analogy?

I am not wanting Warburton back, just making the comment personally that it was a better football experience. Our away record was good and home form was obviously better. Yes he made mistakes and he had far superior players like Eze, Wells, Samuel, Chair and a performing Willock, as long with a few others and a playing identity.

Another tedious virtue signaller - glad to hear you implictly consider yourself a vulgarity-free grown-up, which probably means you're the very opposite. And I'm sure you'd be picking up the same thing if, say, Clive had inserted the same kind of image in one of his reports, wouldn't you, as he sometimes amusingly likes to do?

As to the plea for 'alternatives', I was responding to the OP and offering an opinion not investing in a counter-thesis, so why do I need to provide any?

I agree with the OP. I think there could have been a solution to the dip that we encountered under Warburton. I know it was a broken record at the time with the same players stuck in a rut to the tune of his 'We must look afte the ball better' but with only a bit more careful management in terms of getting Eustace to take the upper hand we would have continued our upward trajectory. Big mistake getting rid of those two towards the end of that season and pitting our hopes on PBBC.

There's humour then there's vulgar, leave Clive to the funnies.

I have worked with lots of sons of wealthy men, very very few have the same nouse of their forebears who self made,

Ruben's a nice fella, probably too nice and was more comfortable around similarly nice lads like Les etc rather than someone like Warburton who's more hard nosed,

This was why I always wanted Warburton to move upstairs as our DoF, creating a transition with the likes of Eustace to 1st Team Coach.

In your opinion. Which you are entitled to as are others. Love how in another post I think you called people idiots for not understanding what you actually mean when you writr and now exasperated when someone's view does agree with your own

Good for you! Yes, most people don't want to feel misunderstood, and any serious writer wants to be intelligently read.

If I'm 'entitled' to my opinions, why say 'in your opinion' in that tediously resentful manner? Try making your mind up so you can deal with other people's views without seeming so inhospitable to them, rather than doubling up on the cliches, eh?

Not being tedious at all. Just pointing out that it is a world of opinions and everyone is allowed to have them, it's just that you decide to view yours by being an a$$ about it. But hey whenever someone point a something out to you like that its them who have the issue despite tkh being the common denomentaor. The irony that you are telling me not to be so inhospitable to opinions but you are the one who's choice of words will have people pulling you up on your tone etc. If you want to be be intellectually read have something intellectual to say rather than insults with a few more syllables
