Challenge read this without laughing 🤣 on 17:51 - Oct 4 with 1706 views | ReslovenSwan1 | Russell Martin rates him very highly for one. This forum is not the best arbiter. I would swap him for 'True Jack' Cullen in an instant. Remember Viktor Gyorkeres? "hopeless" "did nothing for us" etc. Now worth £80m. Vik was finding his feet at 21-22 at Swansea and then blossomed. Steve Cooper blew his chance to sign him having declined to give the player time to develop. I remember Adebayor arriving at Arsenal at 22 and he as hopeless too getting widely slammed by fans and pundits alike. Wenger developed him. I believe in my fellow Neath man to kick on. He is big, fast, has a set piece a sublime touch and excellent passer and vision. Cardiff have no pace. For Wales u21 he caused havoc when teamed up with Huddersfield speedster Pat Jones. He at 22 has 106 games under his belt. Cullen has 146 and 3-4 years older.

...but if he was really that good then why hasn't his career skyrocketed and why hasn't a better club come in for him? The type of club an ambitious 22yr old couldn't turn down. Answers on a postcard to the CCS...

May well be something in that, because he’s looked one of the best players on the pitch every time I’ve seen him play. Not lacking talent.

He is a rare beast as a Welsh footballer. Great touch vision and composure. He has a laid back style that looks ok in a Premier League team but looks out of place in a team of water carriers like Joe Ralls. With no pace he has no one to dovetail. Even his Wales u21 coach messed about with him letting Denmark off a very nasty hook. Dominating the Danes on their own patch is not something Welsh teams can do very often at any level.

He’s very average, no pace. He’s only in the news because he plays for Cardiff.

That was what tickled me and the comment section being here was the main pull of putting it up. My mate that supports Cardiff tried telling me Arsenal were looking at him last year 🤣. He is a head on a stick in the wrong position. Him not being in the Wales squad without injuries should tell tails online all they need to know.

Challenge read this without laughing 🤣 on 07:47 - Oct 5 with 1297 views | Joesus_Of_Narbereth | There’s definitely been something going on behind the scenes with him, whether it’s injury worries, Ravel Morrison syndrome or something else. Because he can play and often looks their best player but they’ve had about thirty managers in the last two or three years and none of them seem to want to pick him.

Whenever I’ve seen him play and admittedly that’s not often, he puts in a good performance and looks a good player. But as you say, why isn’t he being picked regularly by any of the multitude of managers they’ve had recently?

Good to see that he prefers an "elderly" Joe Allen, says it all really.

This. I don’t understand Allen’s selection but I can’t keep thinking it’s a political decision to get Swans fans interested as one of their own will be there especially if he picks Ramsay. None of it bothers me though as I’ve no interest in Wales or international football generally (other than finals).

You are a flag waver and presumably would support Team GB. The main obstacle for forming UK football team is the loss of 'England' which is very close to the heart of the English urban football fan and even more so the small towns of the north. I suspect Swansea still remember the £300k cheque they got for Joe in the Qatar World cup. This would cover some of the significant losses Swansea made on re signing this player after Stoke decided they did not want him. Wales have never qualified for a u21 tournament. They lost 3-2 in a play off v England when Ramsey, Allen, Vokes and Ched Evans were Welsh hotshots. Shaun McDonald also. Bellamy had a good look at Colwill and he did not play at all last beak. Wales managed to beat Iceland away with out him. A good win against the Czechs could see Wales qualify. automatically. Matt Jones (Wales u21 manager) did all he could to help the Danes. Colwill had them on toast in Copenhagen feeding a flier Pat Jones. he scored two penalties and got one Danes sent off. Another followed. Colwill was taken off a 1-2 to Wales and the 11 men of Wales excluding Colwill could not hang on for the win against 9 men. He was not even picked at Rodney parade and the Danish manager could not believe his luck. Wales lost 2-1 with Colwill coming on fr 10 at the end and creating a consolation. Colwill turned 22 recently. he is a real good prospect. 104 games under his belt 40 less than Cullen who is an honest ordinary grafter. Josh Thomas int he same age group squad as Colwill has struggled up to now and is still struggling to get on the pitch at Bromley. Congreve was given a run and lost his place. Cotterill is performing well.

Bellamy prefers Ollie Cooper over Colwill. This is a more relevant comparison as a forward oriented no 10 midfielder.
