In any event, I don't buy Dubois' assertion that it robbed him of victory. Had the ref started the count, I have little doubt that Usyk would've been up within 10.
I've seen different angles of it and Dubois definitely caught him on the way up, it wasn't where the punch landed so I think the ref called it right, no need to punish Dubois but needed to give Usyk time to recover.
The Ring reckoned it was low and the referee handled it right – time to recover but no penalty. That's good enough for me.
"Below the belt" does feature in the laws of boxing, but it's clearly an inexact ruling. Looking around, boxers seem to consider the navel the dividing line. By which standard it looks like a low blow. Certainly, Usyk was hit where there is no muscle or bone for protection.
it was not below the belt, and most boxers have high waist bands and protective wear , dubois caught him and done him with a perfect body shot. and you see the rubber band/protective wear over the waistline nearly every fight. i felt dubois was unlucky and home advantage and being popular helped. if that was at wembley maybe a new undisputed champion
