Tell them to f off and we'll get the buckets out instead.

It's being so happy that keeps me going.

2 years left on his contract... got to be worth north of 5 Mill imho?

Chair to Leicester? on 10:35 - Aug 15 with 8260 viewsHunterhoop

At least.

This is the time to sell Chair to maximise his value because there are 2 years left (just like last summer was with Willock).

His contract isn’t running down. Leicester need to replace Barnes and Maddison. Chair is not an unknown quantity. He’s got good stats for the league. We’ve seen what good Champ players are going for. I’d say £8m is par. However expect our financial desperation will mean we accept 6m.

2m for Willock would be great.

The issue here is how late Leicester leave it. If it’s too late for us to sign anyone we’re snookered.

Yeah this is different to Willock you'd think.

A player who is committed and unlikely to force a move, with 2 years + 1 year on his contract. We hold the cards.

Weirdly, Chair often goes to Leicester any time I play FIFA career mode, so take that as ITK

Strongly suspect we’d be left praying Richards comes good rather than bringing someone in.

With some of the fees being paid recently, I think you could double that.

West London Sport have been saying all summer that the club expect bids for Chair late in the window and have had nothing for Willock

If we get a big money offer we have to take it

I'd be appalled if club didn't have a number of potential replacements, loans or perms, in their sights in case Chair goes. But of course, we are QPR...

Let's hope we can get a bidding war going. Sad but necessary unfortunately.

Has he got 2 years left with a further years option?

IMO we should accept nothing less than 10m.

If Hamer is 15m then that is the least we should accept. Leicester also caked in it.

Smells like a trout farm in here

I would not be accepting anything less than £10m for Chair.

Hamer is better than Chair unfortunately, but I agree with the sentiments. Leicester can afford to overpay.

Here's an idea. We rebuff them with some initial bluster, then tell them (if we're looking to sell) that the price goes up incrementally every day they delay making a credible bid. Then again, we could do our usual thing, project a feeling of inferiority/desperation/gratitude, and end up flogging him for one of Lee Hoos' 'undisclosed' £1m giveaways, plus a bag of Monster Munch to be delivered in 2027.

Sell him, of course, and our season goes immediately south. We won't replace him at the same level, if we replace him at all, and it'll likely mean our attacking creativity disappears to a trickle. Mind you, it'll increase our FFP 'headroom' by 5% for the season after next, so we should all be saying 'whoopee' to that.

Humph! And again, humph!

Poll: What should the club do now (assuming no imminent change of owners)?

Their stats over the last three seasons are fairly similar. Chair scored slightly more, Hamer assisted slightly more.

Depending on which site you use Hamer has scored between 16-19 goals and between 21-24 assists. Chair has 22 goals, 18 assists.

Poll: Which is the worst QPR team?

Chair to Leicester? on 12:41 - Aug 15 with 7048 viewskernowhoop

Except in that spell of games when the QPR playing style became an issue for air traffic control, Ilias got used to taking responsibility for building our attacks. In fact, probably too much responsibility, when he often seemed unwilling to trust his colleagues with the ball. If he goes to a better team, he will be coached out of holding on to the ball too long and it will be interesting to see how he develops.

This is going to be a very tricky one. We have to sell players for profit to survive, and it’s clearly in our interests to sell Chair now, when his form and contract length mean we can charge a hefty premium, rather than waiting another year and risking his value dropping. But then we also need to get a big enough fee, early enough in the window, to properly replace him otherwise we’re making relegation even more likely.

Either way, it’s going to be a massive test for whoever’s in charge of transfer strategy now Les has gone, with huge implications for the next few seasons. Please don’t mess this up, Rangers.

Just watched the alternative angle highlights from Saturday. Chair was instrumental in every good forward move that we made.

Gonna be a hellova hole to fill if/when we lose him. £8 million minimum Leicester

This.

All very well getting 5-10m but he is impossible to replace in the next two weeks and Smyth unlikely to be able to replace him, certainly short term. When we lost Chair to injury last year our attacking ability went off a cliff. Needs must and all that but Chair going fills me with dread

We're desperate, as usual, getting more desperate as the end of August approaches, and everyone knows it. If he goes, whoever picks him up will nick him for a song.

Wouldn't begrudge Chair the move though, he's earnt it. He's carried the team for way too long. I'm sure he'd like a fresh start somewhere less chaotic where he can kick on.

If he goes, it'll be a massive blow for us, i'll be desperately sad to see him go, but delighted for him in equal measure.

Maybe Willock and his 'advisers' should take note.

So, in essence we could keep him for one more year and he’d still have 2 years left effectively. Even more leverage, if that extra year option exists. I wonder if we have a minimum fee release clause in there. Would be odd for Chair to lock himself down without that out. My guess is both he and Dykes have such a clause hence how we renewed them.

He’s obviously be a very big hole to fill, and the Hamer comparisons are interesting, which arguably pushes his value higher.

With our FFP position though and lack of squad depth, this is still probably the year to take the money, if, as many have said, we can bring replacements in before the transfer window closes.

One has beencreating chances for Gyokeres Godden and O'Hare the other has been creating chances for Dykes Roberts and Adomah think I know who should have the far superior stats. Illy is in the upper echelon for chances created in The Championship stick a born finisher up front instead of Dykes and his stats would be far more impressive

Just reading about where Chair would play in Leicester's set up, it appears he'd be out wide and not an ACM because they already have good options for that central attacking role. I wonder if that might cause him to think twice.

That said, Leicester would be a good move for him and he certainly deserves one.
