Poll: Greatest Ever Dale Game

Can't be sure on the penalty decisions from ifollow footage but pleased we got the bit of luck we needed. I thought we battled well and approached the game in a positive manner. It's nice to be above the line with the opportunity to go with a big game on Saturday. Up the Dale!

Watching the Dale is a good test for your heart, but yes, we got the three points and it gives the team confidence for Saturday (hopefully!!!!!).

Good that we’ve now found a different formation that can be used to get results as well, the back five with what would be regarded as a “small” midfield more than held its own against a Bradford side you know will put you under pressure. Sounds like Taylor had a good game too.

Bradford fans are going radioactive on Twitter about penalty decisions.
It’s about time we had the rub of the green with referee calls but what gives them the arrogance to think that they only have to turn up to beat Dale?

Three I think.

When does it change to 8 bookings for a ban?

The next suspension is after 10 yellow cards in 37 matches.

That’s why there’s never much point in claiming ref’s are against us/biased etc. Swings and roundabouts and eventually you’ll get a game like this.

Henderson has now scored 6 goals for Dale at Bradford, making it his favourite away ground in our colours.

If the likes of Doncaster and/or Peterborough had played out injury time like we did, some would be having kittens, but needs must and all that.

Desperate times require desperate measures, it's not pretty but if it keeps us up this season then it will do.

Ebanks-Landell got the ball with his tackle which the Bradford fans seem to be ignoring.

Also, at one stage in the second half, Mark Hughes was in the Dale dugout pushing one of our coaches with his shoulder.

Can't wait for his interview.

Much better performance tonight - rode our luck at times, and the ref was abysmal for both sides, but ultimately we had to make space in the boot for 3 points.

Rodney needs to start up top for me now - its where he played well at the start of the season and tonight he had his best game in a Dale shirt. Lloyd was really good again, and Max Taylor staked a huge claim to start again on Saturday.

3 points on Sat & thats 8 from 12... that form is exactly what we need.

Not really as Doncaster and Peterborough aren't usually fighting for their EFL status when we play them.

You mean “game management” when we do it as opposed to “couldn’t watch teams like Ferguson’s/McCann’s/Evans’ anti-football every week”?

Completely different levels, and you know it.

Not at all. I never had much issue with how Peterborough played against us, for example. I accept others think differently. Teams waste time, players stay down for longer than they should, commit annoying fouls and generally irritate. We have done it before as well.

Do I like the way the game has gone that way compared to the 80s/90s? Probably not. But things weren’t always perfect then either.

Comparing levels of it is difficult, but if we’re wasting time and getting booked for it, it’ll be annoying opposition fans; much as it gets on our nerves when we see the other team do it. Two wrongs and all that.

We have made what, effectively, already feels like x4 new signings in this transfer window ...Lloyd......followed by White / Taylor and (offensively) Seriki. Personally, I'd opt for a back line of Taylor / Graham / EEL / Keohane (struggled last night in midfield) with Seriki / White playing in a more advanced positions where their pace could cause damage??!!

That was worth the £10 and sleep deprivation before a 05:45 start this morning. 😃
Have had an explosion of optimism and looked up the points of the last play off spot in league 2 the last 12 seasons. Lowest 68 points 2010/11 Highest 77 points 2021/22.
Mean 72
Median 72 (71.5)
Mode 71
Points to play for 63 max points achievable 83.
Lets not aim to scrape survival let's go for that last play off spot.

In commentary, Gary Jones claimed that EEL was 'off the ground and out of control'. Claimed it was a definite penalty.

I hope he watches that and thinks again.

Sleep deprivation seems to have led you to an alternative reality James? 😉

Mind how you go with that paddle today!

Three is correct. All three have been for time-wasting before taking a free-kick or goal-kick and on all three occasions he has booted the ball away just at the exact second that the referee has blown up to go and book him for timewasting, thus wasting a few more seconds as the ball makes it's way back to him. It's glorious and I hope he does it every game where we're winning, and I hope all of the players do similar in every game where we're winning. If it helps keep us in the Football League I very much could watch it every week.

Tangled up in blue.
