next manager on 23:46 - Apr 13 by CliveWilsonSaid | Another name for the hat - Paul Clement. Hasn't really happened for him as a manager recently but had a good record at Derby and Swansea earlier in his career. Amazing CV and clearly a very well respected coach within the game. Obvious links to QPR and when we were linked with him not so long ago he said, “I’m very flattered to be linked with Queens Park Rangers, a club I supported as a young boy and for whom my dad played. It would be a real honour to manage that club at some point in the future." Question marks about his style of football and record in the top job but fits in with the 'unpolished diamond' policy you often hear talked about at the club. |
The Dream manager before we won at Sunderland and Uncle Tony changed his mind

Allegedly got all the coaching skills in the world but not very personable. Imo with today's player that's more important than the coaching on the training ground.

He's currently with Fat Frank at Everton. I'm in the Warbs stay camp but if the club part ways it might be an interesting appointment. As you say it hasn't happened in his last couple of jobs but seeing as one of them was the basket case fake hoops we can excuse him that one. It'd depend if he was willing to work with little money. I wonder if Mel Morris, during his total mismanagement of the Derby ownership, has a tinge of regret (probably not) about sacking Clement six years ago when they were five points off auto promotion with a third of the season left (not 'the Derby way' ffs). They had been second, one point off top spot at the start of 2016. They still made the play offs that season but may have made auto if Clement had had the whole season, we'll never know.

Saw Slaven interviewed on Sky Sports a few days ago when he said he was ready and keen to return to manage in the UK. Just sayin'

next manager on 22:21 - Apr 9 by carrotstick | Obviously it will be Alex Scott, she gets every job going. She has 10 minutes free on Thursday morning for training and is able to rush over after Football Focus on Saturday. Apparently Dion Dublin will be her assistant. |
Her and Jermain Jenas would be the dream ticket

next manager on 13:30 - Apr 15 with 1683 views | dsw2509 | I’d prefer to keep Warburton but if he is leaving then Bilic is a good shout. Dyche would be an amazing hire but he won’t do it. Signed a 4 year contract last year so he can wait for the right opening to come along. Bring in Clement as coach if the budget stretches that far. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Maybe. But he had £23 million worth of transfers in that season, so if he wasn't pressing for the top there was something wrong. Since then he hasn't reached above 35% win rate in his management roles. Warbs in contrast has only been below 40% with us (37%). I wouldn't have Clement in for two reasons: 1) he hasn't got a successful record bringing on players on a tight budget. 2) apparently he played awful football. At least we've had some lovely football this season, and apart from the last two months, when we haven't it's usually because other teams have set out to frustrate us. I can stomach pragmatic football for a bit if you're winning. I can deal with some losses if you're playing entertaining football. But losing ugly is just not bearable.
