The dotorg on 11:38 - Feb 7 by aston_hoop | That and DaveB's (I think?) site were my first introductions to QPR's internet presence. But I haven't look on it in years and years, didn't realise it was still going to be honest. |
my site started around 1998/99 season, long gone now replaced by people who know how to spell check, the number of times I used an i in the phrase Lee Cook tried a shot from long range was ridiculous. [Post edited 7 Feb 2022 12:30]

I used to love your site Dave!
The dotorg on 12:32 - Feb 7 with 2928 views | PeterHucker | It used to a good resource for QPR news & views especially for getting an Rs fan viewpoint of any matches I hadn’t made it to. It was also great for arranging which pub to meet in before the match and several times I blagged lifts to away matches from people on there. (Including a few times with Ben a.k.a. Battletank) I think I was known as WestLondonLaLaLa back in those days.
The dotorg on 12:35 - Feb 7 with 2918 views | CopenhagenRs | The Times They Are A-Changin' I guess. For me Battletank's original dotorg back in the 1990s was a significant lift of insight and a great source of information on all matters at QPR compared to the pre internet days. Especially after I stopped living in Shepherds Bush that message board became indispensable for me and many other overseas Rangers. Now many of us are here at the brilliant Loft for Words often with new usernames as this is so much better than all the present anti social media. Today this board has developed into what the original probably could have been if Battletank back then had the necessary time and resources. I fondly remember Dave B´s splendid match reports on the old board or was that on another website!? Can´t remember by now. Anyway that must have been something very time consuming to write and now Clive has taken that to the next level here. So RIP the old dotorg and long live Loft for Words! I really want to thank you as well Dave. Your match reports is something special that I still remember many years after you wrote them. They were the highlight of the week for me for many seasons. I just cannot remember now if they were published on the dotorg site or was it somewhere else?

You can link through to a Notts County match report on that link too. Top stuff. Wasn't the internet a far nicer place to be back then?! [Post edited 7 Feb 2022 15:21]

I have, hardly bloody original though. 1) Pick the area you're from 2) Append "R" Someone once thought my actual name was Grover, a name you'd only give to Americans or muppets.

The dotorg on 16:32 - Feb 6 by Boston | '97 wasn't it, that Ben started dotorg, the first QPR message board and one of the first mb's in the country? Not long afterwards the club started the 'Official', where I would more often be found, not that I didn't enjoy the dot, but the quickfire nature of the place at that time did not suit my five hour delay. Still, I muddled around, eventually becoming quite the nuisance, thoroughly enjoying the freewheeling rapid response style of the old format, I have fond memories of certain threads, posts and individuals to this day. Now they say you shouldn't speak ill of the dead, so I'll try not to, but the 'shenanigans' surrounding that boards management were such that myself and a number of other posters decided to depart for pastures new, as many of the veteran users might remember. This has left me with a slightly soured view of the place, so I won't be mourning its demise, it had long passed for me. |

Yeah, we’ll almost. Was Boston R’s from the beginning, then Boston R (I think), on QPR Report, then got multiple questions if I posted on LFW(which I didn’t at the time), came on here and had to edit to Boston. Though on the original Battletank dot, I was multiple posters😀

Yep, more through lack of imagination than anything else. Many years were spent staring at the .dotorg site but like all things, something shinier came along but it's still sad to see it go. I've spent most of my life in retail which meant Saturdays off was not an option so the .org/dotorg massively brought me closer to the club. When I was just starting up an internet café in Eastbourne, Zeus and santadog picked up a coffee vending machine from Blackpool (that I'd won on Ebay) and brought it to Loftus Road for me. Still can't believe they did that for me. Then there were others like Goofy and Stan/Jamie that bought tickets for me as I was abroad. Simpler times and makes me love this club even more, when the chips are down we are a proper family.

Goofy got into ultra-marathon running and put his all into that. Not seen him for a fair few years.
