Bradford game, roughly what year? as 2 I remember one was a floodlight failure , the biggest memory is the Generator blowing up and catching fire , but that was in the 70s so I would opt for the lights going out. |
Thanks mate - that very kind and esteemed poster Guthrieintherain said the date was 14th January 1977. He seems to think it was because of bad weather but I’m sure the lights failed as you said. Great to finally know my start date, I shall mark it from now onwards by howling out the back yard on the anniversary. | |

Swans were winning 1.0 got called off because of rain and sleet 57 minutes.
Found it on an obscure Bradford page listing games called off. |

If that game had finished that way we’d have been promoted!
Then again, maybe we wouldn’t have had tosh, or maybe we’d have had another two promotions on the bounce getting to the first division a year early! Then again, everything happens the way it happens for a reason.

Not as loyal as you guys. First match vs Halifax(I think)in 76/77. Watched the team through the decades but not as regular as most due to deployments away. Returned 2011, started loving it again but lost all interest/faith once the club was sold to the yanks. Not renewed since and probably never will again, will always love the club but won't put anymore money into it...sad, but hey ho. |
