Week 19 Results SHEFFIELD UNITED 2 ASTON VILLA 0 United have lost just one of their last 10 Premier League games. Only 2 (blueeagle and wessex_exile) got this spot-on, and another 22 had the outcome, with 12 going for a 2-1 in what was the weeks most predicted score. A missed Villa penalty could have made all the difference for them. BRENTFORD 1 FULHAM 0 Bryan Mbeumo netted for the fourth game in a row as Brentford moved up to fourth in the Championship. 3 had this spot-on, and a further 11 got the outcome. WIGAN 1 HUDDERSFIELD 1 Championship relegation rivals play out a draw which helped neither side's fight against the drop. 4 got this spot-on, and 1 more had the outcome. 16 predicted a win for Wigan. ACCRINGTON 4 PORTSMOUTH 1 Portsmouth's 10-game unbeaten run comes crashing to an end after they had taken the lead. Nobody had this spot-on, but 8 did get the outcome. 18 predicted a win for Portsmouth. SHREWSBURY 2 COVENTRY 1 Shrewsbury come from behind to get a 91st minute winner. With 6 having the outcome it was a surprise nobody got it spot-on. 21 predicted a win for Coventry. SUNDERLAND 1 BLACKPOOL 1 10-man Sunderland are now without a win in eight matches, as Blackpool take their unbeaten run to seven. 6 had this spot-on, and 1 more got the outcome. 17 predicted a win for Sunderland. CREWE 1 MANSFIELD 1 Mansfield eased the pressure on manager John Dempster as they fought hard for a draw. Just the 2 (GOSBTS and unitedwhites) got this spot-on, and again 1 more had the outcome. 25 predicted a win for Crewe. NORTHAMPTON 1 FOREST GREEN 0 Northampton recorded their sixth straight home victory with this win. 4 had this spot-on, and another 9 got the outcome. SALFORD 0 EXETER 1 In-form Exeter made it three wins in as many League Two games. A magnificent 7 had this spot-on, and a further 11 got the outcome. SCUNTHORPE 2 COLCHESTER 2 The U's come from two goals down to get a draw. How many years since that last happened away from home? As they take their unbeaten league run to six, and bring an end to Scunthorpe's five match winning run in all competitions. Nobody had this spot-on, though 7 did get the outcome. 17 predicted a win for Colchester. It is the 10 game weeks that produce the significant big scores, but with a number of the well fancied teams failing to deliver, it was never going to be easy this week. Despite that we still had a very respectable 28 spot-ons, and two members did well to have three 3 pointers. They were Daniel who had the 1-0 wins for Brentford, Northampton and Exeter, and with three outcomes he is this weeks top scorer with a brilliant 12 points. Also gsy163 who also had the 1-0 wins for Northampton and Exeter with the Sunderland 1-1, to give him an excellent 10 points. Five members got two 3 pointers of which the best was sevebalo, who made a good decision to go 1-0 all games to give him a very decent 9 points. Happy Cup The fixtures for the last round of group games are now ready for predicting. All details can be found on the separate Happy Cup thread. As these are the last group games the tie-breaker rules will apply if any members finish on the same number of points. So even though the fixtures deadline is not until the 4th January it could be an advantage to post first. Champions League We are now only twelve games away from knowing who this seasons qualifiers will be. With BFG qualifying as holder the other eleven places will go to the highest point scorers over the two divisions. That important eleventh qualifying spot is currently held by mfb_cufc with his 86 points, but only on the first to post rule. With four members within 2 points of that score, and another four within 6 points, this looks certain to go to the final game of Week 21 before we know who qualifies. In the Premier By getting the Wigan 1-1 spot-on, with a rare draw prediction, noah4x4 got his 3 pointers back on track, but his lead is cut again as Sector4 gets a decent 8 points, helped by having the Sunderland 1-1 spot-on. Back into the final Charity Shield spot is sevebalo with his inspired predictions. That was the only change in this division but RSCOSWORTH and Tropical_Us both improved their chances of qualifying for the Champions League with a decent 8 points each. As did TheFatGooner, who was another to have two 3 pointers this week, the 1-0 wins for Brentford and Exeter, to give him a very good 7 points. At the bottom gerry_us takes his run without a 3 pointer to 60 games. In Division One We have a new leader with Lewis_1 reclaiming the the top spot he last held after Week 5, thanks to having the Exeter 1-0 spot-on. But it is only on the first to post rule, as Blue4U2 has to settle for the other automatic place, after leading for the previous six weeks. Even though he had gone 50 games without a 3 pointer, the impressive number of outcomes had kept Daniel in and around the play-off spots, but he changed that in a big way this week, and his top scoring performance moved him three places and within 2 points of the automatics. Having the Exeter 1-0 spot-on keeps concordman and basher2010 in the play-off places. Back into the final play-off spot is BFG who was another to get two 3 pointers, the Sunderland 1-1 and the Exeter 1-0. A decent 8 points for him and also for wessex_exile in having the Sunderland 1-1 spot-on to go with the good Sheffield Utd 2-0 pick. The final member to have two 3 pointers was GOSBTS who had the Wigan 1-1 to go with his good Crewe 1-1 pick. The excellent week for gsy163 moved him up a couple of places, and kept alive his chances of making the play-offs and Champions League.
