Week 1 Results CARDIFF 2 LUTON 1 A 96th minute winner for Cardiff that was good news for the massive 8 who got this spot-on, and a further 16 had the outcome. IPSWICH 1 SUNDERLAND 1 Former U's loanee Luke Garbutt scores for the second week running, but the farmers have settle for sharing the spoils, as Sunderland score with their only shot on target. Another popular result with members as 8 again had this spot-on, and another 3 got the outcome. OXFORD UNITED 1 PETERBOROUGH 0 Ex U's Frankie Kent is still waiting for his first point at Peterborough, and he was also booked to add to his woes. A big 6 got this spot-on, and 3 more had the outcome. SOUTHEND 1 BLACKPOOL 3 10-man Blackpool cruise to a comfortable win, as they score with their only three shots on target. A result that will please most members, but nobody had it spot-on, though 12 did get the outcome, with 9 going for a 1-0 in what was the weeks most predicted result. CAMBRIDGE UNITED 0 NEWPORT 0 Cambridge have started the season with two bore draws. Hope they don't make it three next Saturday. Well done to Tropical_Us for being the only one brave enough to predict this result, and another 8 had the outcome. PLYMOUTH 1 COLCHESTER 0 The U's five match unbeaten run comes to an end, as promotion favourites Plymouth gain a hard fought victory. Only 2 had this spot-on, with a further 11 having the outcome. First of all let me thank all members from last season who registered again for this season. Only one failed to return, and hopefully he will be back next week. Also a warm welcome to the three new members. Hope you enjoy taking part. Gale force winds swept the country today, but that didn't stop a number of members getting the wind in their sails, and starting the season with a decent score. In fact it was good start to the season overall with a total of 25 spot-ons, and the 53 outcomes getting everybody off the mark. There were 7 who managed to get two 3 pointers, with the best performances coming from thrillseeker, who had the Cardiff 2-1 and the Ipswich 1-1 spot-on, and Tropical_Us, who had the Ipswich 1-1 to go with his good Cambridge 0-0 spot-on. They both also had three outcomes, and share the honour of being the weeks top scorers with an excellent 9 points. The other 5 to have two 3 pointers also all got one outcome to give them a decent 7 points. They were noah4x4 and Lewis_1 who both had the Cardiff 2-1 and the Oxford 1-0 spot-on, TheFatGooner who got 3 points for the Ipswich 1-1 and the Oxford 1-0, Sector4 who had the Cardiff 2-1 and the Ipswich 1-1 spot-on, and finally mfb_cufc who got 3 points for the Oxford and Plymouth 1-0 wins. Best of those who had one 3 pointer was blueeagle, that was the Ipswich 1-1, as he got a very good 6 points. In the Premier A good start for many in this division, but it is the weeks top scorers thrillseeker and Tropical_Us who lead the way, with the former just edging it on the first to post rule. It is that rule that allows noah4x4 to claim the other Charity Shield spot, ahead of four with identical records. Incredibly gerry_us was the only one not to get a 3 pointer in this division, and he is bottom at this very early stage. In Division One A great start for newbie Lewis_1 by being the only one to have two 3 pointers in this league, and he is top. He is closely followed by blueeagle, basher2010 and unitedwhites, who will all be looking to improve on the play-offs they made last season. Good to see Stupid_Gooner getting off to a good start after many missed weeks left him marooned at the bottom last season. Despite ghughes11 not following Colukev by backing against the U's, he is still in the other play-off spot. THE TABLES (6 out of 280 played) (Tie-breaker: Most 3 pointers, and then the first to post) Week 2 Fixtures All aboard for the Citylink.
