Andy Scott 17:43 - Jul 24 with 6326 viewsdjdancarter

Confirmed as new head of recruitment.

Scott most recently held similar positions at Brentford and Watford, winning a number of plaudits for his work at Griffin Park, which included identifying and signing the likes of Neal Maupay and Ollie Watkins.

Can’t be true, the yanks are asset stripping the club mun. Why invest in back room staff for recruitment? So that’s Birch, Britton, this guy, physio, analyst, Cooper and Marsh. Plus turning down 15m for McDrinkie. Plus a payoff for the hapless tw*t Jenkins. Think of all the moolah that could have gone to ‘the 27’ that are bleeding us dry.

Good news by the sound of it. Well done Curt, Birch and Leon. It would be churlish not to express gratitude to the current owners for leaving footballing decisions to people who know what they’re doing. It took a bit of time but credit where it’s due.

That analcyst guy seems to have hell of a pedigree. The new head of physio could do with a shave and a tidy up though.

Let's hope that his hands aren't too tied by the Yankers and that he can make some signings. No point having him if the tightwads don't allow him to bring players in.

Appointed with plenty of time to make an impact in this transfer window then.

.
possibly an Andy Scott recommendation for the watford loanee, that will be it now, probably no more money will be available - unless he knows any good players going free.

May well be next Swans manager if Cooper gets poached or dismissed. Succession planning?

I think I’ve heard it all now. Succession planning? He’s only been in the job 6 weeks! We haven’t played a league game yet !

Yes but they were monumental failures (obviously Adams walked before doing anything) . Are you of the opinion that either :-
a) Cooper is going to bomb in his first three league games and get sacked
Or
b) preside over three games winning each by a score of 7 or 8 goals with none conceded? And then Liverpool poach him or Real?
I can’t make sense of your post sorry

Birch did say he is building a structure which will help plan for our next loss of manager before it happens though.
I don't personally think Scott is that plan, only part of it.

Very good work by Birch and crew. Extremely happy with our backroom staff now.
We are moving forward! And quite quickly too.

Proof will be in the puding and all that, but yeah it looks like we're moving in the right direction. I like where we are right now, given the financial constraints.

Some encouraging words there for me, seen as I'm not fully aware of the roles Scott has previously undertaken.

"Andy Scott’s role at Brentford saw him build up a network of recruitment and scouting specialists that eventually blossomed from its UK roots to an overseas operation."

Brentford use/used "Moneyball" to recruit players - was Scott involved then?
