Same here, though a little later. Some genius lyrics. “Some times I feel like new bar, beer below par, food with no taste, music grates. Now I am living too late”.
RIP Mark Edward Smith. Part of the soundtrack of growing up until weary and cynical.

Sad to hear that, rest in peace you miserable Manc barstard! Loved the song Big New Prinz. "Check the record, check the record, check the guy's track record!"
Big nose should have heeded that advice and checked the track record of these yanks before he bright them to our club! But of course he didn't, he was so preoccupied with lining his pockets, he'd have ffur-king sold the club back to Petty for the right price!
I feel into them as a teenager, when I got my doses of the post punk music. Not a lot of it has stayed around the music library now though, but the fall is there along with joy division and depeche mode.
curmudgeon string of wives a constant in an ever-changing line uo.
Anyway-Lauren Laverne played 'Fiery Jack' on 6 music yesterday amongst others. Her favourite was 'Your Heart Out" which segued in Mark Radcliffe playing 'Hit the North'.
Was a good 30 minute drive to hear these again. Don't think I have played 'Dragnet' in 20 years.

I know very little about their music. This tune however, f*cking rocks.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

I got into them way later, I was 18 when fall heads roll came out. There won't be many like him again for all his flaws, the world is a less interesting place without The Fall.
