Naismith to Norwich on 17:42 - Jan 19 with 2382 views | Nookiejack | How much do you think this has cost Norwich in total - for a 29 year old? £9m headline? +5% player signing on fee = £450k? +5% agents fee = £450k? Total = circa £10m Wages £50k a week? = £2.5m a year Would he receive a 3 or 4 year contract at 29? A 4 year contract is £10m commitment. In the context that:- 1. clubs like us and Norwich only have between £25m and £30m a year to spend on players (excluding wages); and 2. Norwich made a few signings in lat summer's transfer window 3. Norwich haven't made profit on player sales like we have done with regards to Bony and Shelvey ......then has Delia underwritten this signing - should Norwich get relegated. All fine if they stay up as next year's TV money will then pay for it?

If Norwich go down, they could have real financial problems, they are banking everything on staying upwards

Naismith to Norwich on 23:11 - Jan 19 with 1962 views | awayjack | There are parallels with our position now, as they made a big profit in season they we're relegated and pissed off a lot of fans. They bounced back up partly because they had enough in the pot to keep bulk of their squad together. They also have a lot more commercial / match day income than us so don't have quite our dependency on TV money to pay the wages, so can probably take more risk considering the TV income next year. I still think they'll go down. [Post edited 19 Jan 2016 23:12]

True. I hope we're prepared to spend on the best quality we can afford. The transfer window is always something of a gamble as you're wanting new recruits to hit the ground running and Norwich will be hoping he has an instant impact.
