for once im gonna defend harold.
i look at that first eleven tonight without caulker and austin, and i agree with it 100%. .
he cant make yun defend better, he cant make phillips braver, he cant give hoilet a football brain and he cant get mutch up to full match fitness after 45 mins.
all the limited and passed its sell by date chaff is on the bench ( i'll exclude clint as thought it went without saying)..
we dont have a ross barkley who can provide that bit of magic.
we dont have it in our locker. we had adel but his head aint right it seems.
i might have to admit out loud , that at this level away from home..we just dont have the quality...
i think its as simple as that.
for christ sake harold dont bring on henry, beau brumel niko , and grey friars..stick to your principles tonight.
i dont care if we lose four giving it a go.

I think the formation is good.
But, Phillips and Mutch are not doing their jobs. That and Vargas ain't a line front man. Barton and Fer not got many outlets- the other three need to work harder to move into space.
Ironic thing is Everton aren't playing that well. They've given it away more times than I've seen of them this season. But we can't capitalise. Even when we do get near the box, the final ball is atrocious.
Too many basics not working for us. We get away with it at home with our atmosphere that drags more effort, but away, too many go missing. |  | | |

We've done exactly the same as every other away game. Pack the midfield, isolate the front man and meekly conceded a couple of goals against a side who are not much cop and could've been beaten had we actually gone for it.
