As an aside, just interested to see what makes sensible football fans(or soccer fans to you plastic yanks ) watch that sorry excuse for a sport? Now I say that knowing there's a multitude of you lot out there that during your day jobs are sensible QPR fans (yes that maybe an oxymoron ) but if you want to diversify what's wrong with Rugby?

There's a sport you could watch IN THIS COUNTRY live every week rather thank puked up in a franchised, commercialised fashion maybe once or twice a year

Ah hah Thame Hoop. As a neighbour I forgive your love of the devil game but I will never understand why you don't just watch Zumba or some other local event if you tire of watching the R's

On that note what boozer if any do you go watch our slow demise? My local closed recently and I upgraded BTpackage. Four defeats and one draw later I guess not great investment :((

Clearly you've made your mind up so not much point responding, but i love the NFL (and rugby too).

Incredible athleticism and skill on display, great spectacle and because the season is fairly short (16 games) you don't get a the 'going through the motion' type games that are so common in football.

Also the most balanced sport due to the wage caps and draft system - a team can go from being hopeless to a superbowl contender in 2 or 3 years if well managed.

I didn't realise we were only allowed to choose between sports rather than watch as many as we liked.

As the rugby season (February - September) and the NFL season (September - January) have virtually no overlap - at least, for us northern barbarians - then there isn't an issue. I can watch both. Keighley Cougars (rugby) and Lancashire Wolverines (US football) are the live events.

RedbourneR.

There was a guy from Redbourne who played as a 'Specialist Kicker,' I think for the Atlanta Falcons in the 1980's.
Mick Luckhurst.
I think the family house was opposite the secondary school in Redbourne.
If my memory serves me correctly.

Interesting, only I don't live there. Sold my soul to the 49ers when I lived in California back in 84-5, the heady days of Joe Montana and Roger Wood ... Was in Standord for the '85 Superbowl win
