I think it's time to have a minus figure just in case SWP is on the pitch

Happy to be proved wrong - brilliant performance and a fair result. I think the three subs reduced our potential but fresh legs were essential to keeping the Chelsea out at the death.

COYR :o)

SHANE LONG shall henceforth be known by me as "the bionic ferret." What a difficult man he must be to play against! The moment you turn around, on him he is up your backside making a nuisance of himself and he just won't leave you alone. It was delightful to see him score a goal (though that probably makes Pelle feel even wo

Oops techno problem - as I was saying that probably makes Pelle feel even worse about himself, but even without scoring he is just so valuable to have on the pitch, because he forces errors and allows other team-mates to get into a good scoring position. Pelle's confidence - or loss of it - is becoming an issue though. You can almost feel his desire to impress but until he does, he won't get back into winning ways. You just feel that with another tiny bit of effort he is going to get there, but the problem is in his head, not in his feet. So long as he hangs on just a bit longer it will all come right for him.

In the 2nd half, Saints were back to their best, controlling the game and playing really entertaining football. I gave both our subs a rating of 9. I can't recall ever doing that before. But, Wanyama and Davis really were superb.

Shape didn't look right in the first half and Burnley had to much possession in the middle of midfield. I thought Tadic and Long were cutting down the space that Bertrand and Clyne would normally run into, but could understand what RoKo was thinking with the formation, let's try and score an early goal. You could argue that it worked with extra players forward when Long scored and of course after half time being a goal up allowed us to not have to press the game, Burnley had to come on to us and this created extra space.
It always amazes me what a goal does for confidence and in the 2nd half we were pretty untroubled.
Keep the faith with Pelle, his hold up play was good again yesterday, he just needs that goal. The crowd were willing a goal in for him yesterday.

Great game, great performance, hugely entertaining.
Does Pelle need or wear glasses? He constantly just misses crosses or gets only a glance when he should be making full contact. This has been noticeable through the whole season. Even our goal came via a complete mis kick from Pelle. The diving header was close but not good enough, and the header that was on target had no power or direction. Having had my little moan I still think he is an asset to the side but we can play without him and he should not be the first name on the team sheet
Tadic had a better game, which would not be difficult!
Well done Saints, a great team performance and a good prezzie for RoKo. What a pity we can't buy Kane, That would be one in the eye for the POX

A goal that resulted from a short spell of actually shooting gave us a 1st half lead and the chance to control a game from a leading position for the first time in months. A spirited response from Burnley but we outclassed them and should have won by more. Well done Kelvin for a few good saves. He gets MOTM for me for that and being an inspirational club captain. Grazziano? Master of the art of false No9 in a way noone could predict. And Shane Long makes Billy the Whiz look slow.

Great game, delighted with the result. To give credit to Burnley, they played very well and were perhaps unlucky not to get a penalty. Fonte has had a couple of wobbles now recently and has been close to conceding penalties.

Great performance by Kelvin with some crucial saves. It looked like he had been playing all season! Delighted for Long that he got a goal that his work rate deserves. I really feel sorry for Pelle at the moment. It looks like the poor guy is cursed not to score.. A mention for Bertrand too who I thought had a great game.

2nd half we looked a lot more solid but still needed the 2nd goal I felt to kill off Burnley. Only downside really apart from the injury is we had 20 attempts but only 3 on target. Still, 3 vital points and we march on !

I must admit to not attending today's game, I just can't stand the heartache. What finished me off for this season was the first half disgrace at Palace and also seeing SWP play. It struck me that perhaps Ramsey has an ego or complete clueless like the rest of them at our shambles of a football club, that somehow his coaching skills were so miraculous he could get SWP to resemble a footballer. All he did was put us at a huge disadvantage and we were well beaten before we started. That did it for me, and I swore that stupid loyalty would no longer mean I keep wasting my hard earnt money watching that shambles of a team. At least no end of season tension, we will be dead and buried long before then.
