Are any of you familiar with the French symphonic metal group, Whyzdom? I'm ashamed to admit that I'd never even heard of them until today! I've been playing some of the 30 second sampler clips from their albums on amazon but, given that most of the tracks are 5-6 minutes long, it's difficult to get a real feeling for this band. There are some full-length videos on their website:
A live performance of 'To Get Her' from BELLE MORTE's new album, 'Crime of Passion.'
'The musical project Belle Morte from Minsk, Belarus was founded in 2015. They describe their music as "dark symphonic metal with a gothic/progressive flavor and melancholic vibe."'
"Metal Opera meets a gothic outlook and ancient ritual. Shredding riffs, hypnotic drums, and operatic vocals. Oryad comes from the Temple of Diana, deep in the woods, with music both heavy and expansive."
Snow White Blood have a new album, HOPE SPRINGS ETERNAL, coming out at the end of the week. The German group (who I'm ashamed to admit I've only just stumbled across) "combine the variety of sounds in symphonic metal with the world of fairytales from a far-off time." Definitely worth checking out, including their earlier album, ONCE UPON A FEARYTALE.
Thanks. This sounds really promising! It looks as if there are three of these “demo” tracks on YouTube, ahead of a full album release in 2021. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on these guys. Symphony Metal TV reckons that they’re sound is reminiscent of early Nightwish!
Yes, Two Steps From Hell compose a lot of music for TV adverts and film trailers etc., so you've probably already heard their music but not realised! Personally, I think their earlier stuff is better than their most recent offerings.
By the way, the new Nightwish album, "HUMAN. :II: NATURE." will be released on April 10th:
