Martin's possession style isn't doing very well for him tonight, 4 nil down and not 30 mins in. Will he survive the night? BTW, when we had Dyer and Routs we often used Dyer's pace for an "out ball" putting it up the line for him to chase, his searing pace getting him to the ball and relieving the pressure. We did not and never had played the kind of possession game that Martin had us suffering under. We didn't, for example, play suicidal passes in our own box, the ball was sent not shuffled around our own area. You'd think you hadn't been watching us very long. |

Walker should be embarrased, Keane is right. I bet Walker doesn't even consider it cheating, he'll claim it's all part of the game these days...it happens! Well it shouldn't and referees are useless. I never liked Taylor. |

What are you babbling on about? What do you think my post meant? Yet again you display a complete lack of comprehension. I have been to Russia, the USA, Turkey, Greece and other places and there is one thing I always find to be true, the ordinary people of those places are much like us in the UK. They want to get on with their lives in peace, they want fairness and hope for opportunity. We also share in common that we are lied to and manipulated by devious politicians. |

Well we had less than 15791 with 2000 away fans there. On other days, with the usual away following we'd be around 14000. I don't agree it's horrific, the first half was decent yesterday but with no strength on the bench and players running out of steam, we had nothing left to give wghich is shocking. It's a combination of odeology over pragmatism and the running down of the squad by the previous owners. I really do think LW camn get results if he is allowed to sign 2 or 3 decent players. The sad thing right now is, we look like we need to be 3 up before we are safe. |

Two poor teams on display and what the hell was Kyle Walker up to? Even worse why did that plum of a referee Anthony Taylor book them both? Walker fouled Hojlund and then faked a head butt, going down quicker than a 20 quid hooker. He was trying to get Hojlund sent off and should have seen red in my opinion. Until referees apply the rules properly the cheats will carry on and they will spoil games. |

Some players will always have better engines than others but you're right. To see it so often, other teams finishing so strongly when so many of our players look worn out. We need a good conditioning coach, someone who will get the players properly fit before the season starts. |

I never buy this short career stuff and I will always ask why people think this is ok? A player can move into coaching and/or managing andif not that, there are other jobs for those who haven't earned millions. Why does anybody think it's ok for what would be the priviliged few to earn enough money to retire in their 30's when for most of us there's another 30 years of working to look forward to AND if we can no longer do a job because of physical issues we have to change paths. |

More complete nonsense from you. What did Martins "style" do fot our club? If anything he wasted a good chance for promotion by misusingthe squad when he'd proven it could get wins if used correctly. The Southamprton squad was always stronger than our squad, he took them up via the play offs but now that team are rooted to the bottom of the EPL and coming straight back down. This possession based style has seen thousands walk away from the Swans, I shouldn't be surprised you like it. What has it done for us that is positive? [Post edited 15 Dec 17:19]

The move to attacking midfielder has been the making of him. He isn't the first (and won't be that last) to find a positional change brings big rewards. His free kick yesterday was fantastic. |

And yet again you are spot on. There is a time for possession football but the time always comes when you need a ball into space for a runner, a through ball or even a hoof upfield just to relieve pressure and reset the defence. |

The big problem is, Grimes is no Leon and when he drops deep we often put ourselves under pressure and concede silly goals. When we are pressed hard we need to play the percentage balls and our wide players need to be making runs for when the ball is sent long. A good football team just doesn't stick rigidly to one style, they can play short and keep possession but will also play the long ball when needed. Even the big 6 sides use the long ball now and then. We continue to create as many problems for ourselves as the opposition do. |

The West is crumbling, it/we have been in the ascendancy but all things come to n end, the world turns, new powers rise, old kingdoms fade. That change is happening now. Europe and the USA are crumbling, the far East is rising. Russia is with China. |

Your logic, as usual, is flawed. Or, put another way if only 49% of the electorate vote, does that mean 51% want rid of the Senedd? Not voting for something doesn't necessarily mean you are against it, maybe just that you want a better choice such as a party that actually has a chance of winning and WILL follow through on it's promise. The Abolish party were never getting enough support because they were too right wing. It's the same reasoning that leads me to believe that Reform will never take control in Wales, Farage!! BTW, when you say Brexit has failed, haven't you noticed the growing mess in the EU, Frances debt is now 110% of GDP and their credit rating is now worse than Greece. Germany's government also collapsed recently and the EU share of foreign trade dropped quite a bit. The whole EU has been on a downward slope. It's not just about brexit, there's a lot more to Europe's problems than brexit but you are so blinkered you pnly see 10% of what is going on. Question, seeing as only 18% are for independence, do you believe that 82% are against it? Do you understand yet? [Post edited 15 Dec 17:56]

Piling debt on young people just starting out is just plain wrong to me. We've encouraged our son to aim for an apprenticeship, don't start with debt and we'll subsidise him. He's 16, I'm 57, his mums 50, he's got 10 years. We all have to face it, we have to help our kids all we can. That much hasn't really changed. Maybe people should consider their futures and think about how many kids they have and how much help they can provide? The pay gap isn't going to close, the lower paid will continue to get squeezed, the rich will get richer and the merry go round will continue. |

Because 2% voted for them doesn't mean 98% want to keep the Senedd. They're not my figures, they are Nation Cymru's figures. You said NOBODY wants toi abolish the Senedd when even Nation Cymru say 31% would support that move. The glaring fact here is that support for abolishing the Snedd has grown and very quickly. With support for Welsh indepepndence now put at around 18% a lot more people want to return to Westminster than want to leave the Union, a massive turnaround in a few years eh? Please try to keep up with the facts. |

Possession alone doesn't win games as Russell Martin has so ably proved. You still need to get the ball forward, get into the oppo's third and at least shoot at goal. Having 70% possession but only 2-3 shots at goal (as did happen under Martin) is pathetic. You don't shoot you don't score. |

I think LW is showing positive signs, things are better this season than they've been for a while. Hopefully the change in owners will see an improvement because things became very much worse under Kaplan and Levein. Seems to me LW has improved players, Cullen to start with, the swithc to AM is working and he scored a peach today. Our trouble is we have nothing decent on the bench, no strength to come on and see a game out. LW needs help in the next transfer window, even if we got Pep Guardiola to come here I'm not sure he could work a miracle with this squad. |

What do you think putting "like" into a sentence then rambling on about something that wasn't being discussed means? Your grasp of the English language is even worse than mine. |
| Forum Reply | Could this be the beginning at 21:30 14 Dec 2024
Well the first sentence is blatantly and demonstrably wrong. People wouldn't vote for that Abolish group because they were screaming nutjobs. The fact that over 50% of the Welsh electorate never vote tells you they couldn't care less about the Senedd. Because facts matter, see. Oooh, here's an interesting fact for you, 31% of the Welsh electorate support abolishing the Senedd, according to Nation Cymru, 18th September this year, nation.cymru/news/third-of-welsh-public-would-support-abolishing-senedd-new-poll/ |

The country is bankrupt because of totally inept, utterly useless politicians who have made a massive mess of the public finances. The tax burden is the highest it's ever been and yet there is still no money? There's plenty of money for politicians and their expenses though. Take my local area, Skewen, we have a community council and a Mayor for a village of 6-7000, seriously? In Wales we have 22 LAC's for a population of less than 4 million and a devolved government determined to increase the Senedd financial burden on us by more than 50%. The UK is broke and has to borrow money to pay it's bills and all 4 members of the union are broke too yet we keep on spending money on......well what exactly? Not where it's needed most apparently but on where politicians think it should gp. One thing is certain, the UK is not bankrupt because of the state pension or those who deserve to be paid it. |
