Disrupted with Jimmy/Marti absent, bullied by the big boys (again) and not clinical enough (again).
Add in some poor performances by some key players, plus an awful referee and it always looked like an uphill battle to salvage anything.
Edwards looked good, Saito made a big difference when he came on and Alfie’s goal was well taken.
Bad day at the office for some others - Nardi had one of his worst games, Cookie isn’t really fit, Chair was miles off it and Smyth hardly saw the ball.
I guess they had to start Cook because of Jimmy but that was probably a game too early IMO. |

Do we think it’s Edwards at RB or that he’s the RCB in a three with Smyth and Paal at WBs ?
Methinks more likely the latter but ‘I know nothing….’
Alfie starting up front is another interesting selection. Hope he causes some chaos and gets amongst them early doors. |

We could just play a selection of four centre backs across the line as we did before but it’s not ideal against most teams and suspect when facing any form of pace and guile on the wing. I also think Colback would be exposed at left back these days.
Maybe we can welease Wonnie (Edwards) the wobber to one side if necessary but I guess he also favours the wight. Wabscallion ! |

So the system that put us at the top of the form table for a while was the wrong one and we should change it to accommodate Chair ?
I love Chair but he’s not the same player he was, he is not Bannon and he’s not a natural number 10. Even if he was, why would you potentially throw the results away for something that may not work and lose the benefits of Chair’s contributions from the left ? |
