Debbie Harry and Chris Stein are QPR supporters. FACT. They confirmed this a couple of years ago on 'Something for the Weekend', when asked by that Watford/Scum supporting knob that used to be on Soccer AM.
Seeing Blondie in June in Dalby Forest and strangely enough playing Parallel Lines in the car currently. Posting that video is probably the greatest contribution I've seen from Holloway on this message board

I saw her play in Kew Gardens ( ) a couple of year's ago - she was excellent and I still fancied her.
I know it's all about personal taste etc but even if you're personally not a fan, I don't see how anyone could describe Ian Dury, Bob Marley, Elvis Costello, Blondie, Kate Bush as awful.

I thought Kate Bush was awful. Her voice weally gwates on me. And off the top of my head I can only recall 3 of her songs, one of which was a Peter Gabriel song that she duetted on.
"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."

I was a big fan of Blondie and Elvis Costello (saw him live in 1980), but there was also a lot of dross around. Punk was a reaction to the general blandness, and while I didn't like the blandness I didn't really like punk either. As you say, personal taste, but the main feeling I had at the time was that the music of the 70s, with some exceptions, was completely overshadowed by the music of the 60s, which seemed much more grand somehow.
Of course the world has changed since then, and it's a bit easier to look around on Youtube and elsewhere and find something you like (in my case everything from Latin music to Korean music of the 70s).

she is an immense talent, more noted for her albums than singles, kate was a musician and although I liked Blondie and Wendy James, they were basically eye candy
Debbie Harry was every boys farking drem back in 1978. Kate Bush was well, kate bush, she'd have got it for sure. I cant believe no one has mentioned Kim Wilde, from a couple of years later. I spilled a pint on her n the green room at TOTP, completely hammered, I had no idea who it was, was just apologising profusely and insisted I bought her a drink at the bar and left her my number for the dry cleaning bill. All my mates thought I 'd pulled. I genuinely had no idea who I was talking to, despite the heavies moving in...bless her she ushered them away. Them were the days...!
