BBC.

Poll: With no leg room, knees killing me, do I just go now or stay for the 2nd half o?

Hodgson has got one massive thing in his favour

Timing.

Its like a free go. No one truely expects him to work miracles and win the Euros but he's go a free shot at it without all the graft and banana skin dodging of Andorra or latvia away on winter nights amidst endless qualifying games.

He also has going for him a very busy sporting summer.. the papers will be busy with other things

He gets a freebie and if he wins it he'll become a GOD (for atleast 6 months)

Poll: Who do we want down with us and Burnley?

'Dave' just text SSN:

'Worst appointment possible. I was looking forward to Brazil 2014 but we've got no chance because we've got Roy and he has no chance'.....

Succinct.

Best appointment that could be made at this time, so glad Rednapp never got the job....

As for boring, what do we want as a manager ? maybe he should dye his hair white with red streaks wear a clowns nose and do cartwheels as he leads the team out.

Interviews with him are coherrent, make sense and he comes across as someone with a good insight into the game, I couldn't care less if needlepoint is a favourite hobby, he has a big job to make a silk purse out of a pigs ear, fcuk the press (no offence Clive) tough sh** their 'golden boy' never even got interviewed, for once the FA have got it right.

Its up to us to give the bloke a bit of leeway, the Euros are nothing more than a chance to start and sort things out, even if he does pick the unmentionable ars*holes from the flotsam he has at hand, hopefully things will start to change in the future.

No offence taken wood, I think the media are acting disgracefully over the whole thing. Quite a few websites are running polls where Hodgson is getting 60-70% approval and yet if you read the papers you'd think the world was 95% in favour of Redknapp.

It's international football people. Can't believe that anyone feels it's worth bothering over any more.

More particularly, can't believe that anyone feels that a team made up of the likes of Terry, Lampard, Rooney, Cashley, Gerrard & Co are in any way representative of them as a nation.

Hodgson, Redknapp, whoever else is English and therefore was in the frame this time round, none of them have the necessary clout or experience to mould a team capable of more than an occasional quarter final success.

It's a yawnfest nowadays.

I wonder how long it will be before some wag of a journalist tries to get him to talk about England's world Ranking?

I said when Capello went that Arry should not touch the job. He can finish with Spurs and gallop off into the sunset probably with his reputation (for all things) intact, for a nice piece of retirement during the next couple of years. The alternative was the poisoned chalice and the ignomy of defeat and his baggage of, shall we say doubtful dealings, exposed.

Regretfully same will happen to Roy. Except that his baggage is probably much lighter or better organised.

Congrats Roy and well swerved arry.

Currently residing in Pinner, Centre of the Universe.
Poll: we have a timetable for Brexit, should there be a referendum for the English

I think a lot of football supporters at times couldn't give a monkeys, me included, but when the tournaments come round it is very difficult not to get caught up in all the hoohah, Terry and his ilk do rather stick in the throat when it comes to actually cheering the side on, but that old patriotic thing kicks in and memories of glories past.

I'm hoping Terry is either banged up or has an injury that makes it impossible for him play, as for Hodgson, give the bloke a chance, he may just have the balls to drop one or two from the squad that maybe were nailed on if Rednapp was manager.

Perfect excuse for the WBA players, not to put it all in.

The timing is a scandal. I bet if WBA were playing Man city last game Fergy would have something to say.
Good appointment but if the press are not on his side then i cant see him being there long.

I enjoy the big Tournaments.. Despite him being a bald w8nker, I actually enjoy it when Rooney scores for England

I'd also have a sex wee in my pants if we beat Germany.. I have great memories of Gazza and the tournaments in the 90s

A journalist genuinely just asked Hodgson's opinion of Apartheid because he played for a year in South Africa

FFS.

Why do the English press insist on trying to portray British people as inherently racist when we're surely in general amongst the most open and tolerant races on the planet?

Whilst in reality it irritates the hell out of me, i can't really think of much better than the world cups or euros with England in them. I love it.

Most of the commited England fans hail from the small teams; the Scunthorpes, Carlisles, Swindons etc., and it's the only times they are involved in big games (on a global scale i mean, not trying to patronise little clubs. We are quite little.)

I love the big tournaments until we do crap or get cheated, frequently both.

Hang on, that sounds like QPR...
