Record breakers 08:24 - Jan 17 with 996 views | MytchettSaint | Despite the muted optimism at last nights performance (same old same old in terms of result) I cannot unfortunately see us getting another point this season. I genuinely think 6 points is our lot. I do hope I am wrong obviously but fail to see where we can gain points. For no discernable reason (Dibbling aside) subs were made last night, not to change things around formation wise but it seemed just to get some fresh legs on the pitch. To my untrained eye, it didn't look like Aribo or Fernandes were blowing out their behind. If the thinking was to save legs for Forest, surely as we were in the game it would have been better to go for it. One other thing, I can't remember when we last made changes in a game that positively impacted the outcome (probably last season I guess).

I just think, games like last night where United were poor and well below par are our best chance of picking up points. It's difficult to see where we are going to get the next one as we seem to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory or even a draw.

Different manager, rinse and repeat results which simply confirms that the squad assembled by Sports Republic never had a chance of being vaguely competitive. Sports Republic’s employees are an object lesson in ineptitude a fact confirmed by two relegations from the Premiership in just three seasons.

Out of all our subs probably only Lallana and Archer would have been any good. I feel sorry for Juric because his tactics are working, we looked a good team up to 70 minutes.

Don't agree - Saints are playing with far more spirit and intent, and have been unlucky, than under Martin's mindless methods. Do agree that we haven't got the squad and it's mainly SR's fault. It might not seem like it but It's getting better, cheer up!

As mentioned on a different thread, Saints are paying the price for a lack of fitness - 100% down to Martin. However, I totally agree with your views on Sport Republic - who I despise for what they have done to our club. [Post edited 17 Jan 10:30]

Amazing. 5 League games since Russell Martin left, with a return of 1 point and he’s still getting the blame. Maybe, just maybe, our players just ain’t good enough?

We all know that our current players aren't good enough to play in Premier & so do they. But I do blame RM for the lazy unfit mentality that he has instilled into these players. I will not start to criticise Ivan Juric, he's inherited a dispirited group of players but at least he's identified some glaring problems & is dealing with it best he can. He is concentrating on getting players fitter both physically & mentally ( eg. Sulemane & & Bree who both have improved under IJ). But I would say that his unnecessary substitutions hurt us against United, I think he's still giving lots of players game time to assess them. I think that he is a massive upgrade on RM.

Time will tell on Juric. With Forest, Newcastle, Ipswich, Bournemouth, Brighton, Chelsea and Liverpool coming up. That’ll be 12 PL games into his reign. Good luck Ivan.

Why oh Why is it always Saints? We just have a soft center. When have we ever made a comeback, when have we ever, not rolled over? I'm beginning to think there is a vortex around SFC that everyone who joins us ends up mediocre.

Last season we came from behind and scored late winners multiple times...it was so refreshing. Also, despite not playing well on several occasions, we were able to grind out results. That's of course against inferior/equal opposition though, which tells you all you need to know.

He gets all the blame for me. Our players are unfit, that is completely on him. We lack the belief to win games, which is on him because of our results under him and the games we threw away in the last few minutes. We looked a much better side last night, and played in the way you need to do to win games. However the lack of fitness and belief showed up in the last 10 minutes.
