QPR v Udinese B Match thread 09:36 - Nov 30 with 27843 views | johnhoop | Apologies if this is a spack but I can’t see another one anywhere. In reference to the title I thought that Festy Ebosele looked by far the best of the Irish team that played England recently but I’d never heard of him. On looking him up found that he’s at Watford “on loan from Udinese.” A very hopeful 1-0 to the R’s.

QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 14:38 - Nov 30 by Ned_Kennedys | Unlucky not to win that. Great first half performance, it was obvious that Watford would improve in the second half but we stood tall and deserved at least a point. Field was excellent, shame he’s suspended for Norwich but Colback should be back. Celar’s overall performance was probably his best of the season. Saito good again but him and Morrison looked tired last 15 mins. Varane improving game by game, looks a very good signing now. Need to follow these last two decent results with a win against Norwich of course. |
Saito's always knackered in the last 15 mins, but he's effing great for most of the rest.

QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 13:54 - Nov 30 by CiderwithRsie | That's the thing with Smyth - most moves by most players in any game don't lead to a goal, so most of the time Smyth is pretty positive for us, takes pressure of us and puts it on the other side. But in those few moments per game when a player could score or create a goal, he almost always fails. If other players can capitalise on his shifting the balance of the game, all is OK; if they can't, he won't win it for us. |
Yes, I like Smyth and you can't fault his effort but he lacks that extra bit of class that top players have which enables them to play a killer ball or bury a chance when you have one opportunity to do it. Willock at his best had that.
QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 14:59 - Nov 30 with 3230 views | kernowhoop | So much to be encouraged by - the creation of scoring chances; then the dogged defending and the overall team spirit. Both sides had 'What if?' moments but Rangers came away with more credit than Watford. Sadly, the same number of points though.
QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 15:07 - Nov 30 with 3082 views | derbyhoop | Very decent performance. 1st half obviously better than 2nd. Had our chances. Madsen, Morrison, the clear penalty, Saito and Celar off the post. 5 points from last 3 games. Need to build on that with a couple of home wins.

QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 15:19 - Nov 30 with 2926 views | terryb | A match we should have won, could have lost but was the best I've seen us play this season. Apart from our finishing we looked a decent Championship team & hopefully will continue to improve. I'm not blaming Sam Field for his caution today was my man of the match. Varane was very impressive as well.

QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 15:28 - Nov 30 with 2813 views | OldPedro | Enjoyed that - good game to watch and that 1st half must be our best of the season so far. Should have led at half time and could have been 2 or 3 nil even. Watford were stronger in the 2nd half and we could have conceded but we also had decent chances for Saito, Celar and Ashby. Much more positive week

Field was absolutely superb. We will miss him on Saturday. Whole team did well though. Feeling so much better than just before Stoke game. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 17:03 - Nov 30 with 2191 views | FDC | Imagine how we'd all be feeling if one of Celar's efforts and gone in, ending the week with three goals. Thought his technique was excellent for both, which is encouraging.
QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 17:19 - Nov 30 with 2089 views | dmm | Will this season follow a similar path as 23/24? At the moment, of course, we all hope so. What's beginning to become clear to me is, as last season, Marti has changed tactics and become much more pragmatic. Again he has realised our players cannot play pure Marti ball. Clearing their lines and playing long balls are not bad things for this squad to do.

Agreed. In a perverse sort of way, all the injuries we have suffered might stand to us in the long run. We always knew the new players would need time to bed in and no doubt Marti was planning on doing that incrementally. That fact that he was forced to throw the majority in ' at the deep end' obviously has led to some disastrous results, but has also given these players vital Championship experience. They have had to literally 'learn on the job' and this could ultimately benefit the whole squad in the second half of the season when we have (hopefully) everyone fit. The most important thing was that we did not get cut adrift at the bottom and 5 points this week have ensured that did not happen. Still a lot to do, but much happier than this time last week
QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 17:25 - Nov 30 with 2031 views | Harbour | Good performance but finishing continues to be the problem Celar Morrison and Ashby all had very good chances but could not find the net. We created a lot and the corners much better. They had a lot of chances second half but good to see players throwing themselves in to stop them. Overall feel we are heading in the right direction…another tough game next week as Narwich scoring a lot.
QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 17:26 - Nov 30 with 2016 views | ManinBlack | Frustrating not to win after that first half. Shame we didn't have the ref who was at Coventry today and spotted a Cardiff handball at the end to give a penalty. The clown at our game was looking right at the handball yet missed it. We will need to convert our chances against Norwich as they have banged in 10 goals in the last two matches. This suggests they will score against us with our home form so we may need at least two goals to win. Are we capable of that in front of the home fans?
QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 17:48 - Nov 30 with 1857 views | HAYESBOY | Its not often you get 4/5 clear cut chances away from home. Madsen and Morrison first half. A pen that should of been given Saito and Ashby second half and more of a half chance from Celar hitting the post. Encouraging performance.

QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 19:11 - Nov 30 with 1404 views | Watford_Ranger | Start with the positives. Was worried about Morgan and Field against Sissoko and Louza but they more than matched them. Celar did the ugly stuff better than he has against some big, decent defenders. Unlucky with the late chance and forced a great save before Morrison’s howler. Smyth and Saito both excellent at helping their full-backs and giving an outlet going forwards. Nardi great again. Morrison looking increasingly solid. Varane had a couple of brain farts but I like him a lot. I’ve seen people on the Twitter praising Madsen. All about opinions but I just don’t see it. Set pieces were dire and just can’t impose himself on the game. I’ve never taken to Paal and appreciate he’s coming back from injury but thought he was poor. Then again the replacement was Fox and I like the bloke but he can barely move. Putting him against Baah was risky and we got away with it. Most importantly it’s a team with some bollocks finally. A team that works for each other. Not the most talented bunch especially with the injuries but one you aren’t offended by traipsing round the country.
QPR v Udinese B Match thread on 19:22 - Nov 30 with 1337 views | OxfordHoops | A very good team performance today and we did look a threat going forward. Waftford haven’t lost at home this season, but we pushed them more than most, they were lucky to still be 0-0 at HT. They improved in the second half, but still didn’t create any really good opportunities. Great defensive performance from the whole team, Madsen and Saito with great all round play today, and Celat is starting to look like the stiker we hoped he was, two good efforts today and unlucky not to score. Everyone working hard as a team. I’m sure we would all have taken 5 points from 3 games! Onwards and upwards Cmon U Rsssss
