The court case is happening at last.

Thanks Joe, a little bit from me to everyone.

Hi folks, this is clearly a topic many enjoy commenting on, but please remain consistent in your responses avoiding potential slurs on any characters involved and remain objective.

Ive asked countless times how is benefits the club and not received anything at all resembling an explanation.
It is an utter waste of time, and a real distraction to what we should be about and that i getting back to the Prem. Sueing sellers wont do that but some bitters will be happy. They are more con concerned with the money people made out of the sale of the club than the club itself.
It is typical Welsh back stabbing. We're united are we? MYRSE we are.

Pitiful and laughable and when it fails I look forward to some humble pie.

The football club outgrew the trust many years ago.
Best thing for the trust is to just go away.
Absolutely irrelevant to SCFC in 2021

We disagree on covid but agree here.
Right with you.

Maybe our problem is we had local people in the driving seat. The club was sold in a devious way by Welsh people.Note that Builthy.Welsh people farked us over. Maybe it's a Neath thing (Skewen Neath to me anyway). Pity we built that Briton Ferry bridge

Considering how much time you've spent whining about the current owners, accusing them of all sorts of illegal shenanigans surely you should be four square behind legal action?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It’s got nothing to do with the club which you’ll know from the statement. How does taking previous owners to court impact on the club? It doesn’t.

How is the action nothing to do with the club when the action is about the sale of the Club ergo it is about the club.

The SCST will be going away if they win the court case. As it understand it, its a divorce. The other shareholders will want them well away from the club. The judge noting that the parties could not even show up for mediation will presumably want a clean break.

It is sad but for the best. Put simply if the club does well in the next 10 years under US ownership it is a terrible mistake. If the club implodes and drops to league 1 or 2 it is the right call.

Over the last year we have provided regular updates regarding our activities in progressing the mandate given to us by our members, authorising us to pursue legal action to address the issues arising from the 2016 sale of our club and the impact that has had on our position within our club, a position that is now no longer secure.

The Trust is pleased to confirm that we are now in receipt of funding offers to ensure that the Trust will be able to pursue legal action but is also protected in the event of an unsuccessful legal action. While any such agreements will come at a cost, in terms of any future award should we be successful, they will ensure the Trust is protected in all eventualities and able to pursue our claim in a responsible manner.

We now expect events to unfold relatively quickly. Our legal team is preparing the Draft Petition to serve to the legal representatives of the parties involved in the 2016 sale and is working with our funding partners to complete all other outstanding activities, such as the necessary complex legal agreements. We expect these activities to be completed in a matter of weeks, at which time proceedings would commence.

Rest assured, despite any comments that could be made to denigrate the Trust by undertaking this action, the Trust is not acting against the club, we are doing so against the parties involved in the 2016 sale. We have been assured by our QC that the club would not be actively involved in proceedings and there is absolutely no reason for it to actively impact the day-to-day activities that matter so much to us all.

While we know our membership voted by a large majority to pursue this course of action, we also know that it is a decision that is taken with great reluctance. It is in recognition of that fact that the Trust has made every effort to see if an alternative path can be reached, that would protect the Trust’s position as custodians of our club, the fans’ voice within the club, and their eyes and ears within the boardroom.

To date, despite discussions, these efforts have not resulted in a positive outcome. In the case of the former shareholders, there has been nothing but silence.

As we know, the status quo is not sustainable. As a result of the recent loans into the club, the Trust’s shareholding could easily be diluted below it’s current 21% and, in the event of any future loans, eventually to nothing at all.

It is with great disappointment that we have got to this point, however the alternative is that we do nothing, quite possibly see our stake in our club disappear, and our voice within the club diminish. That is the most unacceptable outcome of all.

Welsh people took this club to Old Trafford, Anfield, The Emirates and won from the desolation of the Vetch. Like Britton Ferry bridge the club infrastructure is a great asset. Real investent and growth into the club. The SCST owned 21% of a mess and now 21% of a very nice club with great infrastucture good players and no debt.

They want out as they see no future for the club. Such people are of little use. Off they must go.

Let me explain

If Swansea is in league 2 the club is worth £5m and the SCST is worth around £1m. Going to court brings in £13m or so. CONCLUSION It is a good decsion to go to court.
The SCST is better off +£12m

If Swansea is in the Premier league the club is worth £180m perhaps 21% of that is £39m whareas the court gains are £13m. CONCLUSION Ia bad decision to to go to court. The SCST is worse off - £26m.

Gong to court is a risk.

I get your point and yes the trust needs and wants cash.

But you're still viewing them purely as a money thirsty shareholder akin to any of the others. When first and foremost what they are is a supporters trust.

Who'll be delighted if the club goes onto future success.

Has anyone actually worked out how much US investment it needed to reduce the SCST from 21% to say 1%? Lets assume the club is worth £40m. The SCST is therefore worth about £8m

If the SCST is 1% then I reckon it could be about £792m that is needed to dilute them. Please correct me if I am wrong. I need to understand this claim. £800m?

Shame on the Trust board members who advised members against legal action the first time round and decided to "trust" those same people who (allegedly) screwed them over in the first place. Those of us who knew this was the only option the first time around are vindicated.

Let's hope Jenkins et al lose a lot of sleep over this in the coming months before losing a lot of money once it's over.

Also, let's hope national media outlets pick this up as it infuriates me how Jenkins et al still largely retain a positive image both locally and nationally.

He took a club with debts, the Vetch field a terrible squad in league 2. He left the club in the championship with McBurnie, Rodon, Dan James, Andre Ayew on the books with an excellent manager in Potter (best in England according to Pep) and a state of the art infrastructure. The media use their brain to think about stuff.
