The recent Planet Rock Top 70 songs was released the other week. Pleasingly 3 UFO, 4 Rush numbers, but some very odd choices. 6 AC/DC songs but, for me, their best, Bad Boy Boogie, not amongst them. The top few are predictable, except for this at No.3

For the record, my personal options from those not already included would be:
Budgie - Napoleon Parts I & II Blue Oyster Cult - Astronomy Thin Lizzy - Waiting for an Alibi Judas Priest - Dissident Aggressor Rush - Red Barchetta, along with many others Black Sabbath - Symptom of the Universe UFO - Lights Out and for some reason this, which I can't help but love Smashing Pumpkins - Mayonaise Zep - Dazed and Confused
and many others that I will consider when sober...

"Things had started becoming increasingly desperate at Loftus Road but QPR have been handed a massive lifeline and the place has absolutely erupted. it's carnage. It's bedlam. It's 1-1."
I've been methodically working my way through YouTube videos of the bands on the bill for Download 2022 and the highlight so far is this band, who just released their debut album.
I'd describe it as hard rock with a bit of a groove and some swagger, but then as Martin Mull said, “Writing about music is like dancing about architecture”. Or something....

Serbian band I've been following for a while, released their new album 'So Zemlje' (Salt of the Earth) recently which is described as a mix of sludge, post and doom metal - they do like to blend a bit of acoustic guitar and then drop some monumentally heavy riffs. The video is top notch as well!

How has this band - Cave In - passed me by until now? Asleep at the wheel yet again!

They were quite big in the early - mid 00s. A strange one as they started of as a metal band, then went spacey rock, then sort of back again. Their second album is pretty much as good as gets for me. Much more angry than the later stuff, but also bits that are reminiscent of radiohead or something.
This is a great tune too - was unreleased for years. Wedged between their metal and rock days...

Once more, I am guilty of not paying attention. This lot have been around for 25 years but I had never heard of them before today Shameful
