Yes, VAR / referees f#cked us again BUT... 01:45 - Feb 15 with 2386 viewsRipleys_revenge

Look at how we gave the ball away leading up to both goals. Shocking performance second half, almost entirely self-inflicted defeat. Wolves came out fired up after half time, as everyone knew they would, and we totally folded.

Everyone gets bad decisions - we have had an awful run of them lately. But the way the players reacted was pretty pathetic. Instead of making us angry and keen to prove a point, we just collapsed. Again.

In my opinion, it's a smokescreen to talk about the var calls as the fact is both goals were preventable. Both times we had the ball and then gave it away, leading to half chances which we failed to deal with properly.

I think we have a real problem now. The players' heads have dropped to a level we haven't seen since Pellegrino / Hughes. You can see the doubt creeping into our game as soon as opposition steps it up a bit. Huge lack of confidence now running right through the team. We look like a relegation team again and it will be very hard to turn this around. I do believe Ralph is the right man to do it and we will finish this season lower mid table.

An unsettled side hasn’t helped and Jannik clearly isn’t up to speed again yet but Ralph now has to show his mettle
The next 3 games are huge, get nothing and we will be in serious trouble

To a huge extent you make your own luck in football. The lucky teams are usually the good ones. Yes we’ve had some bad decisions but it’s no excuse for an abysmal run of defeats.

It must be a sickener when you work your socks off and then time and again you see that hard work undo by poor and just plain wrong decisions. You could tell by Ralph’s reactions that he was completely confused by the calls yesterday. We have faced a perfect storm recently. Injuries to key players, poor decisions, a crowded fixture list and running out of gas but it is not as if we have lost every game this year and mostly it has been by fine margins. Here is no reason why we can’t turn things around but just have to dig in deeper. Mistakes happen when players tire and ours must be knackered with the work rate they get through in the first half. Little wonder that we fade. When Ralph’s system works it is great to watch but it can’t work for 100 minutes in every single game so he is going to have to find another way of playing, hopefully one that doesn’t leave the defence so exposed to players running at them constantly. Perhaps the KWP injury will mean he reverts to three at the back for a time? We aren’t scoring many goals so need to tighten up defensively big time and just perhaps spend a few weeks sitting back and hitting teams on the counter.

You are right that both goals were avoidable.

First one, Traore beats Romeu, Armstrong, JWP and Minamino before setting up Semedo.

Second one, poor ball from KWP gives them possession in our half. Neto is then up against Vestergaard because Bertrand is on the half way line. Better ball from KWP, maybe finds Bertrand?

We give the ball away too much in our own half.

They spent too much time sitting back and passing the ball around at the back in the second half yesterday. Wolves knew they would do that and pressed hard.
Stuart Armstrong showed them all how to get a cross in yesterday for the Ings goal, then Ralph took him off.
