279 - 259 still too close. Biden probably needs 285+ to stop any chance of Republican Governors rigging the Electoral College vote in Dec/Jan.

Saddo as I am, watched NZTV coverage of their General Election on Saturday, a totally different world.

It doesn't say 279-259 though, does it? It says 279-125 with 134 up for grabs.

Looking at those 134, if Biden doesn't take Florida, North Carolina and Arizona I'll be very surprised. That would take him over 330.

The Economist and FiveThirtyEight are currently calling it around 341-197.

Icon? It's all Rio Ferdinand's fault.

I was trying to make the point that Biden needs at least 285+ projection, after the vote, to be sure of actually winning, before the states send their nominees to vote in the electoral college. There is no law saying that the EC votes have to be cast the way the states votes in the general election. In 2016 7 flipped and voted against their states votes.

I hope Biden does get 330+, as it kills it stone dead, but if it's close I could see either a republican governor of a state send a load of Trump supporters to vote, or maybe 4 or 5 governors getting maybe 3 voters each to flip, especially if the Democrats sweep the hill.

PS JaneG welcome back!!!!... Good to see you, hope you are ok.

Those pesky Chinese voting for Biden. Trump will just have to add republican votes to balance the level of corrupt Democrat votes.

That's better a Trump landslide.

Looking forward to a Trump spectacular as we march towards November 3rd, if this week is anything to go by.

His poisonous attacks on Fauci and CNN ("dumb bastards") were particularly unhinged, even by his own low standards.

And you`ve got to love the way he dobbed in CBS`s Lesley Stahl following the conclusion of her truncated interview with him - for not wearing a mask!!!

Great to see a post from you Jane, and hope you are keeping well.

There was a conspiracy theory on the forum (started by spell, I think) that you had finally succumbed to Trump`s charm and genius, and were last seen in Poulton square wearing a MAGA hat and recruiting for the UK branch of the QAnon society, and were a little embarrassed to post on here anymore...

If the reports are true that he's been paying taxes on foreign bank accounts, then he's in trouble. Not paying taxes in your own country will have some voters thinking "well I'd do that if I could", but not paying them in your own country but paying them in another will go down badly in the USA. Democrats need to hammer that point home if it's true.

Thanks guys. Without going into too much detail, lost a close family member in March so it’s been a pretty tough time. x

losing someone, that's awful Jane but ultimately, and sadly, it's a part of life that none of us can avoid.

We've all been there and can empathise.

RIP to the beloved and stay strong to those left behind.

Biden's a bit old, isn't he?

In fact, they both are.

Way, way too old to be President of the United States.

I'd be happier if the pair of them were playing bingo and going on cruises.

Same with Nancy Pelosi.

She intends to seek another term as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

She is 80 years old for God`s sake!!!*

*Body of a 60 year old though....

Pelosi needs to shut up and keep a low profile until after the election. She said two years ago she'd only do another two years as speaker.

Expect the polls to narrow over the next few days.

Perhaps, but there is some reassurance that since 1972 only once has the swing been more than 3.2% in the last 14 days of an election.

That came from `538 polling` so should be reliable.

Let`s hope so, and that a modicom of calm returns with a Democrat administration, and forces Boris Johnson to pull back from the brink of a `no deal Brexit`.

On Pelosi, she indeed needs to shut up.

Obama was a magnificent orator yesterday; an absolute titan in front of an audience compared with Trump and Biden...

When I was a lad .....

.... a 'TRUMP' was a synonym for a 'fart'.

Have you trumped? - Was a question if there was a strange smell in the room.
