Personally, I do accept that he might be less well off in 2020 than he was in 2016 (I won't say poorer). At some point the amount of money you have doesn't really matter any more. I think most of us could manage on 50 million dollars or whatever, so anything above that is a bonus to be set aside for our hobbies, like running for President.
To be fair to Trump, he isn't the only one to do this because Mitt Romney was the same.
