Toxic to the core it seems, riddled with factional warfare.

The Labour Party on 13:05 - Apr 13 by waynekerr55

It has become increasingly clear over the last decade or so that the only people the Labour Party hates more than the Tories is the working class and each other. Oh and the Jews allegedly.

It’s about time they split into two parties representing the two factions or this will just carry on tearing them apart for the foreseeable future.

The Campaign Of Really Bad Yellowteethed Neocommunists Party should face off with the Blag, Lie And Invade Regions Party at the ballot box, not behind closed doors. Then people would have a real choice between C.O.R.B.Y.N and B.L.A.I.R.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Owen Jones has called for an inquiry into why the inquiry was leaked.

Johnson is ok though a. Isn't he anti Islam? But they don't make such a fuss about it. Or the Tory newspapers don't. All the same.

Genuine point here Builth, why bring that in to it? This is at Labour's door.

"But the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, which reported Labour to the EHRC, said the report "serves as an exhibit of the party's failure to address the crisis" and should be handed over to the watchdog.

The organisation's chief executive, Gideon Falter, said: "In the dying days of Jeremy Corbyn's leadership, the Labour Party appears to have invested in a desperate last-ditch attempt to deflect and discredit allegations of anti-Semitism.

"Rather than properly dealing with cases of anti-Semitism and the culture of anti-Jewish racism that prevailed during Mr Corbyn's tenure, the party has instead busied itself trawling through 10,000 of its own officials' e-mails and WhatsApp messages in an attempt to imagine a vast anti-Corbyn conspiracy and to continue its effort to smear whistleblowers."

How can he say it's a "last-ditch attempt to deflect and discredit allegations of anti-Semitism" when the report shows that anti-Semitism was a problem?

Does he think the report is part of a conspiracy to make Corbyn look good then? Despite the 10,000 emails detailing abuse of MPs, staff, and members, and a hyper-factional effort to apparently undermine complaints procedures along with the 2017 election campaign?

Anti-Semitism in Labour is real, but it seems it was used as a political football in a factional war between party HQ and Corbyn's office. This report shows that it was an issue pre-Corbyn and wasn't dealt with by the general secretary who remained in his position until 2018. This guy was allegedly part of the faction that attempted to sabotage the 2017 election campaign.

It seems to me that the report wasn't submitted because it was intended to be an appendix. And presumably the people who were implicated in the abuse are still active at party HQ, hence their reason for not wanting the report published.

What you've said about Tom Watson delaying the suspension of Ken is an outright lie and a willful misinterpretation of the facts by bad faith actors in Corbyns team and idiots on twitter.

The leaked correspondence is referencing a joke that the staffer made about Karie Murphy (LOTO) suspecting a plot to embarrass Corbyn. When you read the full transcript you can quite clearly see its a joke.

What makes this lie even more hilarious is the composition of the 3 member NCC panel which made the decision to suspend Livingstone in the first place rather than expel him. Rather than being stacked with puppets of Watson, the panel actually consisted of Campaign for Labour Party Democracy's Russell Cartwright, Unite Unions Brenda Warrington, and Cllr Rose Burley who was the only person on that panel who called for Livingstone to be expelled despite the 3 of them finding him guilty of the charges they were presented with. In another twist of irony, it was outgoing General Secretary Ian McNicol who increased Livingstones suspension after outcry that the decision was too soft.

This report is choc full of libelous misinterpretation of private correspondence like the Livingstone example and probably the reason why it was spiked by lawyers in the first place. More seriously for the party are the legal implications of this leak which could see the party faced with an unlimited fine for misusege of data. The party is now also facing legal action from left wing Jewish activists who submitted complaints of racism to the party, and have now had their personal information spread over Neo-nazi websites because the report was that was leaked was underacted. The completely not racist Corbynites have released a report which has actually doxxed Jews who complained to the party about racism, even though they made complaints in confidence and did not state their Jewish ethnicity or religion as part of their complaint. The composition of this report, and nature of its leak could be a chapter in the EHRC report itself.

While this report includes selective examples of abhorrent behavior from so called "right wing" staff members, it does not conclude that the Labour party wasn't institutionally antisemitic. In fact it goes further in making the case to the Equality and Human Rights Commission that the party is indeed institutionally anti semitic. There are several pages condemning former MP Chris Williamson as a vile Jew baiter, including an example where he was ordered by General Secretary Jenny Formby to delete his retweet of a prominent holocaust denier. Williamson refused this order. Of course this is the same Chris Williamson who Jeremy Corbyn described as “ a very good, very effective Labour MP. He’s a very strong anti-racist campaigner. He is not anti-semitic in any way." in February 2019.

The hard left have been in charge of the party for the last 4 and a half years and under their stewardship have these problems been allowed to fester. People like myself have been lamenting the racist descent of the labour party under Corbyn. It's of little consolation to me to find out which faction was responsible for obstructing more cases of racist members, who flocked in to support Corbyn in 2015, lest we forget.

It's a testament to how sh*t and incompetent Corbyn and his crew were that those supposed wreckers of corbynism actually achieved a better election result in 2017 while being obstructive and half @rsed than the corbyn team themselves when they were given total control of the Labour electoral machine in 2019.

When the EHRC report is released, its going to blast some on the right of the party that shamefully obstructed the dealing of anti semitism cases but the people who will sustain most damage will be the racist Corbynites who had control of the whole party and allowed this sore to fester and grow for nearly five years. This last attempt to burn the house down by Corbyn its just an attempt to deflect and take a few people with them while they still have a semblance of power and relevance within the labour party.

Well that's one way of looking at it, but I stand corrected on the Watson thing. There was an excerpt doing the rounds on Twitter but obviously it seems it was used to create a narrative. In any case, there's going to be an investigation into the investigation itself. What a farce.

Keir has his hands full alright, talking about being pitched in at the deep end!

I’ll just share this with you as a comic example of Labour enmity: picture the scene, it’s 1945 and Labour have just won a landslide. You’d think everything would be coming up red roses, wouldn’t you?

Hugh Dalton: “ Look at Nye, I swear that man is his own worst enemy.”

Herbert Morrison through gritted teeth: “Not while I draw breath he ain’t!”

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

its all bollocks. People on the "right" of the party are just as entrenched as people on the hard left. What both of them don't realise yet is how utterly irrelevant they both are now that Keir is leader.

What was interesting is the list of MPs who "demand the release of the report in full"

Kind of also shows Jeremy as the fraud he is; not content with handing the Tories an 80 seat majority him and his clan have also set about causing further damage. What a cúnt.

No doubt there's loads of different groups on either side, but other than the usual pro/anti-EU split on the Tory side (like John Major's "bastards") for the most part they generally tend to pull in the same direction when it matters.

Nobody infights like the Left.

That’s mostly historically true apart from the last few years. Tories tended to keep their infighting mostly behind closed doors. Labour does theirs in the full glare of publicity.
