BAOR used German bases to prepare for the Warsaw Pact attack and the Germans needed more room for vehicle manoeuvres so they were allowed to use Castlemartin from the 1950s or 60s. It has been used as a firing range by the British Army, Navy and RAF since the 1930s | |
