My first encounter with oldham fans was around 99/00 on sheeps*1t lane. About 5 or 6 come bouncing up to me to see if I wanted a fight. The main man was about 9 stones ( I'm about 14/15 )
How he mocked me when I declined his kind offer.
My main reason for not engaging in a punch up with him (them) was not cowardice as was suggested, but the fact that I was busy holding on to my nine year old son's hand. The hand was trembling quite badly too I might add.
From that day onwards I have despised oldham and I always will.
Not obsessed with you at all my friend , you are just one of the four football teams that I absolutely HATE.

Look at the latest Home Office statistics from last season. You might be surprised to know that Oldham handed out 0 banning orders during the 2016-2017 season, and only had 1 more arrest than Dale. Bury fans were by far the worst behaved out of the 3 of us.

Probably because of the level of aggressive behaviour and poor language used in front of my eldest. It put him off going for around a year and could conceivably have finished him with football forever.
I would however like to retract the word ' hate ' and replace it with" strong dislike '. Hate is far too serious an emotion to use loosely and I regret using it here.

There's still a scenario where Birmingham will join Bolton and Sunderland in coming down to league 1. Imagine missing those 3 home games. The away support from those 3 games will be close to the away support of all 23 league 2 games next year, not to mention 3 great away days too

Think the Exiles home game is usually determined by time of year. We want to make sure travelling is ok for everyone so it's tended to be March/April. But yes wouldn't either of those games be special! Going over on Saturday - picnic at Hollingworth Lake and then the bunfight at Spotland. You're not on your own with your "strong dislike" of Oldham for the reasons mentioned.
The two Bury fans I regularly speak to have the same opinion of Oldham fans, and I attended a match a few years ago with two children in our group that were in a similar situation where they were scared because of Oldham fans actions and it could have put them off football.
Blackburn fans I work with are also of the same opinion of Oldham fans.
So there is a pattern emerging.
Have to agree that all teams have those type of fans, but Oldham seem to have a larger % than most. |  | | |
