I’ve heard a few people say you never fully get over it,especially at top level sport.

I’ve heard others say that’s nonsense.

Llorente was a great goal scorer and the perfect fit for Sigurdsson but his all round play was streets behind Bony at his peak

Llorente was twice player bony was ,in a poor side last year he scored 13 or14 goals no pens would love to have seen him in the team bony was in that finished,8 the in league bony is s#it

No way.

I think Bony’s shot to bits now, but he used to ruin defenders in his first spell here. One performance that stands out to me in Man City at home, tore Kompany and Co a new one.

Llorente was a beast in the box, but his all round play was nothing compared to Wilf in his prime.

Definitely.

Bony did pretty well last time round once he got going / or after Michu got injured, depending on which way you look at it. Would never say anything different.
But it was utter madness to bring him back this Summer, after almost 2 years sitting on the bench/in treatment rooms. It was yet another typical HJ clusterfuuck of a signing. It wasnt as if he wasnt aware of Llorente intentions of wanting to move on. Yet all he could come up with was Bony as a replacement.
I said it at the time and I say it again now. The guy is shot. Kinsey must have thought Xmas came early when the Res bet him he'd make double figures. Unless of course he was in fact on about appearances rather than goals....

Lol.

Easiest £50 I’ll make this year.

However, he has to play 25 games, so probably not gonna happen.

There was an sas soldier in his forties who was retaking selection on the beacons, he had a reoccurrance of malaria on the hill that he had contracted years before in the jungles of bourneo. He died on brecon.

I don't think that it's the after effects of malaria.

I always take Malarone when in West Africa because I don't fancy having it whether malaria has lasting effects or not.

My mate has had it 3 or 4 times because he doesn't like the side effects of the drugs. No lasting effects by all accounts, but it's not a very nice thing to have.

Not for me, but I don't think you can blame bad form on Malaria.

Bony had Malaria on 03:38 - Feb 4 with 1421 viewsdameedna

It certainly looks like the effects of malaria. Does not matter what it is. But i did think of it yesteday again. Wilf will know as he will feek it. It is a very familiar feeling. It may be something he would not want to admit to doctors.

Doesnt make sense he would get it unless he has issues with taking Malerone.

The good thing is it passes so next game he could be fine.

Not really worried but i will be if jordan picks up an injury.

Nothing to with malaria the bloke always been sh#t

Really ?
This is a wind up right ?
Bony has struggled since he left us, and maybe his coming back wasn't yhe best idea, but he was brilliant in his first timevwith us.
I'd like to see what a full pre season with CC will do (even if we don't stay up, which I feel we will).
The guy needs a lot of rehab to get him back to the the old Wilf
I think in answer to the OP, the malaria takes so much out of you and the pressure on Wilf to re-produce his form has hampered his recovery

When did he contract it? If before he signed why didn't the medics spot it ? If afterwards on a visit home why not pay 30 quid in Asda for malaria tablets? Shirley BS though I hope......

I PM’d him asking what his problem was, then I read his previous posts and realised he was the same with everyone. Called him a nutcase. Because he seems to be one with all his insults etc.

Nothing to do with mental health, like depression etc.

I stick by what I said to that Plumz c*ck.

Typical lazy buy from our laughably entitled “recruitment team”.

A huge and expensive gamble we couldn’t afford to make. Well past his prime, injury prone and had hardly kicked a ball in anger in two years. Who knew?

An appearance/performance based deal might have made sense.

We have fitness experts, financial experts but not sure if we have malaria experts here !

Something doesn't look right to me, seems slower than my great grandad! i thought the effects were not so long lasting but Bony seems to have lost quite a lot of his mojo.

He's gotta be hitting the ground running now, things are far too important in the team to get subbed on and look like we are playing with 10 men !

There are malarone resistant parasites out there, but the drug reacts badly with some. Long term effects can be down to Anaemia (including depletion of bone marrow
Stem cells) or recrudescence (or re-emergence) of parasites.
Neither is that likely if well managed
