We battled hard, but the Irish just wanted to bully us again and the ref wasn't up to stopping it.
Shame about the goal but a 0-0 wouldn't have been enough. 1-0 was always going to be the scoreline tonight.

Just got back from the game, very disappointed but given the way results have fallen over the years not surprised. My friends little boy crying at the end in disappointment, at my age you just get used to it.
As has been said, the singing of the anthem was fantastic and very stirring, nearly brought a tear to my eye.
Not had any opportunity to see replays etc, but I thought Wales started off well, but the ROI were very cynical and dirty, they are physically large and they played the referee who let them get away with all sorts. Joe Allen started really well, but was mashed in that sandwich and his departure was a huge blow as he was moving the ball well and covering a lot of ground. Wales had a lot of the ball, but no real cutting edge without Bale, had he played the result might have been different, but I reckon they would have kicked the **** out of him. Crossing the ball to 1 striker who is up against a couple of tough, dirty, large centre backs isn't the answer and we needed more id as. Some of the youngsters have been blooded during this campaign and hopefully they will learn and improve. We need to prepare the ground for the Euros in 2020. | | | |

Allen going off just murdered us, and they would never have scored without Hennessy and Williams giving them a gift. We’d still be out though because we weren’t scoring in a million years. |
If we hadn’t gifted them a goal they’d have had to come out in another 10-15 minutes and try to win the game, that would have suited us and we may well have found a way through. But yeah without Bale and Joe Allen we didn’t look like breaking them down.
