Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread 19:47 - May 14 with 123425 views | TheKirkyLife | Since our Premier League survival is now confirmed I thought it was about time that we look positively to the future for those legendary £5 million Jenkins' Specials. Who knows? We may even spend £10 million on individual players. I'll be updating the thread with every transfer rumour I come across. Feel free to read, discuss and so forth. First entry is the bi-annual "is Bony coming home?" rumour. The Daily Mail reports that City are ready to sell for £15 million with us and the Hammers ready to start negotiations. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4503498/West-Ham-Swansea-Wilfr

Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread on 18:25 - Jul 11 by Kerouac | I'd also like to add that Laudrup was right all along about the benefits of having a trim, higher quality, squad supplemented by U21s in an injury crisis. Since he left we have allowed our squad to balloon and wasted a ton of cash in the process. |
Hoping to find a cheap gem

You'd have to assume that playing to Llorente is Plan A at present. That might change of course.

In the short term, yes, I'd assume it is but as things develop, I hope we will have something a bit more imaginative and flexible in mind and the acquisitions of Mesa and Abraham may suggest we already have. We were a better team without dedicated wingers last season but that could either be because PC prefers to play that way or because he realised our current crop of wingers weren't up to it. The 3 best crosses of last season were by 2 by Carroll & 1 by Fer.

Defintely agree that hopefully PC will be less reliant on a set piece style. Still think there's room for better quality out wide. Not necessarily in a traditional "winger" sense, but certainly more like an Ayew.

And a RB. Don't think Connor Roberts is ready for PL football. Needs to go on-loan to a Championship club

Abraham can play a similar role to Ayew. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

That's what I was thinking which means there may not be room for specialist wingers and the fullbacks may be the ones expected to provide the width. Olsson has shown that he can certainly play that role but we may need someone quicker than Naughton.

If Siggy goes it could be 4-3-2-1. With Ayew and Abraham playing the 2. He played that system a lot under Ancelotti.
Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread on 12:28 - Jul 12 with 3553 views | magicdaps10 | Chabaloah linked again today for 5M, can see this one happening. Was meant to join Watford last week but that seems to have dragged on. Cork out rising to 10M with half and Huw's favourite figure splashed on a young promising player.

Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread on 12:32 - Jul 12 with 3540 views | Kerouac | More articles today re: our interest in Chalobah. Apparently we are up against Watford and Southampton in the battle to secure his services...come on Clement. Bartley looks like he will be going soon...so we will need another centre-back. Would love Badstuber as he is happy at left-back too, or Ben Davies (doubt he will be available though). After that we need a 1st team standard right-back who like to get forward. If we sell Montero, loan out Barrow and/or Dyer and sell Siggy for £50m I could see at least 3 maybe 4 top class forwards coming in (Wingers and attacking midfielders). We could revamp the squad and be up on the deals this summer, if we manage this I will be a very happy Jack.

Chalobah would be a brilliant signing. Seriously hope this one happens! Chalobah and 5m in change for Cork is a great trade off IMO. He's only gonna go up in value as well so there's great scope for return on investment, which seems to be a factor in small clubs' transfer dealings. Clement could make him great too. Chelsea have let go Ake, Ola Aina, Abraham, and now Loftus Cheek (to Palace) either on loan or permanently this window, so Chalobah could be following them out the door. Seemed pretty close with all of those guys judging by social media and reportedly isn't in Conte's plans this year This signing just makes sense, for all parties. Now go and get it done!!

Kirky's Transfer Rumour Mill Thread on 22:58 - Jul 13 with 2868 views | majorraglan | The Sun said he he was braced to sign a £60k per week contract at Chelsea, but changed his mind and went to Watford instead. That's a lot of wages for a young man, equates to £3m per year. He must have some potential to attract that kind of financial package.

I hope we use it to buy a bigger player!
