Leauge table on 15:50 - Oct 30 with 1169 views | nyc_swans | don't think the table really matters until february or so. this team needs to find a way to get at least 30 points from the last 29 matches. can't be worrying about other results until near the end of it all.
Leauge table on 16:15 - Oct 30 with 1138 views | sherpajacob | Whilst there is a lot of truth in the old cliche " the league table doesn't lie" I look at it from the view, are there 3 or more teams worse than us.? We outplayed 7th place Watford Wba were taken to the cleaners by man city, who were lucky to beat us. We've won at fortress Burnley. Sunderland are a basket case, ( until Sam takes over) Hull are going down. Imho we are better than the above but The dropped 5 points against Hull and Watford are currently killing us and we can't afford to drop points like that again.

I think we'll need more than 35 points to stay up. Other than us, Hull and Sunderland everyone else is currently on course for 1 point per game, so 38/40 points, at least, is the aim. Playing catch-up against our rivals already. Not good.

We are playing catch up to a certain extent. The others need to play the likes of Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool which hopefully should even things out if we start picking up points where we're expected to.

ffs - why always take such a negative spin? - take a closer look at who we'd played at this point last season - vs who we've played this season - then take a look at the poor run we embarked upon - and finished 12th

Well said - exactly right. We've given Man City, Arsenal and Liverpool tough games who can then all put 4 goals past other opposition - we're seriously undervaluing ourselves.

So we are in the same position now that Sunderland were last season.

How many points do we get for giving a team a 'tough game', Glyn? Last time I checked it was zero. Meanwhile Burnley, Middlesbrough and other bottom-end teams are picking up points away at these sides. Performances mean nothing.

I would disagree that "performances mean nothing". Good performances on a consistent basis will bring it's rewards. At the moment we are very much on the wrong side of very small margins of error. These big moments in games need to turn our way soon though to bring said rewards for the decent performances before heads drop and we are cut adrift.
