Goodbye & Good Riddance let's hope ....we most certainly don't want to be carrying any passengers at our Club just now, particularly those displaying 'Big Time Charlie' bad attitude.

http://readcrystalpalace.com/2016/01/04/palace-bid-england-international/

Let's hope that next stop and Go-Miss will get off our team bus too - 2 passengers carrying excess baggage making way for replacements who will apply themselves 100% to our cause, buying into our football philosophy and displaying the right attitude professional footballers earning stellar salaries should be displaying day in day out.

If we can get £10m for Jonjo and reinvest most of it in a striker, it will be well worth sacrificing him. Brilliant on his day, but too much of an enigma for a club in a relegation fight.

You won't get much for 10 million, someone on loan maybe or it would have to be a championship job

We don't need Lewandowski. Even a striker with a poor goal record who can hold the ball up and play runners through should do the trick. Would expect significantly more goals from midfield and the wings then.

If we can move Gomis on and bring in two like that, maybe one transfer, one on loan, I would be more than happy.

Of course, it's harder to attract players without a permanent manager.

Yes.

We need any business in Jan to be concluded quickly. We aren't in a position of strength any more to be able to prolong things.

Some will say never undervalue, but if we want someone in, we may have to.

Jeez, there hasn't been this much bitterness towards JJS since...well...last year, at this exact same time of the season.

Then Jonjo went on to become (very) arguably our MVP of Spring 2015.

Just maybe we should learn from the recent past and wait for any rumoured transfer to become official before saying "good riddance."

Well, like a daffodil, JJS certainly flowered in the springtime last year.
This year he just seems to be a massive bulb.

Lets sell our most talented player one who wins games on his own at times, scores goals out of nothing just as we are in a relegation scrap great idea.

Jack Cork far better absolutely pmsl. Can we find our brains please

I'd argue that the criticisms were more justified last season. He was been crap this season at times (particularly at Selhurst), but at least he hasn't drawn any red cards. And the bookings he has picked up have been based more on aggressiveness, when last season they were plain stupidity and laziness.

I'd rather last season, he's been dogshit since August, a liability.

This time last year we were about to lose Bony and were looking for a playing style that suited Gomis. Garry decided we would get the best out of him with a deep lying playmaker who could play the occassional Hollywood ball and put him through on goal. This suited Jonjo down to the ground as it is his natural game and it was no conincidence that his form improved and Gylfis dipped when we started playing that way.

Since AC has been in charge, we have slowly started to revert to our old style. We will hopefully take another step in that direction by signing a striker compatible with the system. If, as it looks like, we go down that route, Jonjo will probably struggle a bit and Gylfi will look the player he did last year (as he has started to the last few games).

I don't think it's worth keeping Jonjo if we are going to play triangle style football, it's just not hs game.

Because he's not up for the fight.

He proved at Palace that he didn't give a toss.

I can forgive a bad performance, but not a bad attitude.

He is worth 15 million minimum , don't forget there's a 50% premium for an england international

All depends on whom we bring in. You are right but if we use the money on an effective striker who scores a few to keep us up, good business.

Things aren't right with Jonjo off the field. A move to Palace back to London would make sense for him.

Can't imagine any other London club wanting him and Pardew will fancy his chances of developing him.

I know, but since I was talking about half of the season I didn't think it applied.

Thanks though! Perhaps I should have said "player of the half season."

Well, that's a great point - can't argue with any of it.

Jonjo's turning point last season was at Southampton - 1st time Monk moved him up to the 10. I forget if Siggy was hurt or suspended, but I know he wasn't available that game.

I suppose if Siggy is unavailable this season we can put Ayew in his spot, which is probably the choice AC would make for the reasons you said.

But as others have mentioned, he is only any use to the club when he is contributing and at the moment he is not doing so to any great extent.
