Alan Stubbs ? 10:53 - Nov 6 with 4414 views | Hooped_Pullie | According to the Mail, (no less) Alan Stubbs, current Hibs manager + former Bolton & Everton player, is the 'shock' candidate to replace CR. He has done very well with Hibs, but whether those skills would translate from the Scottish Champ to the English one is moot. Compensation would also be payable if he comes to LR, one assumes. Looks like TF is trying to 'do a Norwich' : they appointed their youth coach, he failed miserably and they then went to Scotland to sign up one of the best young managers around. Could potentially be an interesting appointment. On the other hand, we'll probably wind up with Olly.

Yes, you're probably spot on there. I see Huddersfield have moved fast to appoint Jurgen Klopp's ex-right hand man. Will be intriguing to see how he does there.

Karl will have a far better idea that me, but from a distance I get the impression that he's popular with the support; trying to go about things the right way and with an emphasis on decent football.

I haven't been up yet this season, but from speaking with mates who go regularly, it sounds like most fans appreciate he's doing a decent job considering the circumstances he inherited, the on-going financial reality and the 1,000,000:1 chances of ending up with both Hearts and Rangers in the division last year.

Most important question at interview will be what his thoughts are on a 6 month tenancy in Ealing are.
Alan Stubbs ? on 15:35 - Nov 6 with 3734 views | richpr | He might well have applied but what has he done?? Not alot - all I've heard of him was when he threw his toys out of the pram about selling a player to Rangers (or Celtic) - I remember he looked a bit foolish as he said they 100% wont sell him and then the club sold him the next day. Not very articulate either - just a gritty scouser with a broken nose

Alan Stubbs ? on 16:58 - Nov 6 with 3568 views | karl | Imo Stubbs is doing very well at Hibs, transformed from hoofball (Terry Butcher) to dynamic passing game with well scouted young players and the few existing players he inherited. The rub as far as QPR are concerned is that it has taken him 18 months to gel together what is now a good balanced team, would he have that time and overall set up that would allow him to do this? I watched a good few games last season and given how poor we were previously it was a relief to see the progress he was making although the team flattered to deceive a few times, i havent been able to see them this season but bought season tickets for me and the kids in support of the club and will, as usual, see them more after the new year. It has been interesting that we have comfortably beaten Aberdeen and Dundee Utd from the top league and Rangers in the top of table clash, all these teams were willing to attack whereas the usual situation in the league has been for the smaller clubs to sit with ten men behind the ball and defend for a breakaway goal. Hibs havent coped very well with this till a noticeable change in the last month or so and it seems to be general consensus that there is more pace in the team and the passing quicker so he has been perhaps slow with his process but getting there with good end product. It has to be said that Warburton transformed Rangers playing style very quickly and although they've stuttered slightly (couple of narrow wins before the defeat to Hibs) i like what he has done with their team. On finance i think Hibs are reasonably secure and would hold out for as much compensation as possible, the Scott Allan transfer was mentioned and the club/Stubbs position was we would 100% not sell to Rangers (no other club was mentioned in this) and despite several offers this was rigidly enforced. On the otherhand Rangers are financially screwed again and need £2.5m in outside funding to see out the season, a modest compensation package could be seen as a small part of that.

If the club/support was patient i would say that it would be a clever appointment JD but to have some perspective he has had the comfort of doing this in the second tier in Scotland. Hibs fans are can be very fickle too, the attendances are just showing signs of rebuilding and the atmosphere at home games has been pretty subdued, he wouldnt change things overnight. His scouting for players has been very good with only a couple of disappointing loanees not really making an impact, there have been some very good ones for the level Hibs are playing. With both my hats on i'm hoping he stays at Hibs tbh, just scared that it is too early for him at Loftus Road
