Was going to go to the superb Bouchon de Rossi on Saturday, but they're shut until 28th July so would like recommendations for somewhere else, not a pub really, special occasion so cost is not a priority.

NB, Woodwork was a subject primarily taught in schools where boys failed the eleven plus although my grammer schook did but it was only boys boys I the lower streams that learned it and they were rough boys from port tennant and places like that over the river.

IMO the Grill House is overrated and overpriced. But eating out is all about opinion.
Always had a good meal in Castlemare, one of my favorite restaurants, although the setting helps. The Grill House ? ......let's just say very "Disappointing" so much so that I won't be going back, unless I fancy chewing on a piece steak that would be more at home in a tannery.

Can't disagree with anything there, of the same opinion.

Well as this thread has meandered well beyond the original scope, I'll just chuck in that the Sunday Thai buffet at the Bay View is spectacular, especially when washed down with a couple of Leffe's.

off you go then ...
I wish I was rich, Rich (see what I did there?).
I did woodwork - I made a pair of salad servers ( because I was shit at doing mortise and tenon joints). WTF were salad servers anyway? Salad was a bit of lettuce with a couple of slices of tomato and cucumber on top on the side of your plate next to your ham.
Posh as f*ck now like - got a beetroot and feta salad in the fridge. Waitrose, obviously.
Talking of art - have you been to the Jackson Pollock exhibition at Tate Liverpool? Rhetorical question.

Lovely, although over in Germany sampled a few better. 2.65 in the Potters Wheel, which is bloody marvellous.
Kin ell that's great value.
The bastard stuff was about a fiver a pint in 2008. It did hero drown the sorrows of getting pumped at selhurst in our first season in the championship mind

Jackson Pollock? Now that's f*cking snobbery for you.

Leffe was a fiver yesterday. Lovely though, although had a bit of a head on after only a couple. Erdinger is over a fiver in the ridiculously out of place Terrace Bar in Uplands. I don't go there often
Can't knock the Potters for price and variety of ale. The clientele is often dodgy, but it's worth it.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

A good chum of mine a Director of this company and they re opening new stores everywhere. A massive success story. No con artists, just a company that buys certain lines at a massive discount due to volume purchased.
I bought some Badoit not so long ago, litre bottle for 19p. I cleared the shelf and the manager wasn't that happy as that was all the stock they had. When its gone, its gone.
See you at the game. I ll be near my good chum Darren ruminating on the meaning of life as we know it
