TRADING Standards staff sometimes have to investigate some pretty complicated issues - but rarely the service offered by prostitutes.
But that’s what one frustrated punter called them about when a prostitute refused to have sex with him.
He emailed Harrow Council after being rejected by an eastern European sex worker at a brothel in the borough.
“The gentleman seemed very aggrieved,” a source for the council is reported by getwestlondon.co.uk as saying.
“He told us he believed he had been refused and was angry about the fact. He insisted that prostitutes shouldn’t be able to behave like that.”
“The man said he had travelled from a neighbouring borough in north London so was obviously a bit upset by his wasted trip. He filled in the form pretty seriously and gave us his contact details.”
The brothel in question is since understood to have been closed down.
Local Conservative councillor Susan Hall said: “Prostitution may be the oldest profession in the world, but a complaint of this sort is a new one on us. The trading standards manual doesn’t really cover it.
“I would like the gentleman involved to visit Harrow again, but perhaps this time he could enjoy some of our more wholesome pursuits — like our wonderful open parks, leisure centres and historic churches.”
