Agree with Gazza you will never bust a gut in pre season friendlies unless you're a young'un trying to impress ie Lloyd They are used mainly to bed in new players, formulate a system and get match fit. If we look at the departures all we really have lost is Armstrong and Willock from the 1st team squad... and Hayden which I honestly think is the biggest loss The others are basic dead wood The thing I worry about is losing both Chair and Willock, that is basically our creativity gone, unless replaced I'm still hopeful of Hayden or Varane. Still be nice to have another forward come in, but i think loans will be important to us [Post edited 28 Jul 10:51]

As said at half time hard to tell on a phone screen, but for me like you the worry is not scoring... or apart from the Smyth effort never really looked like it Can't agree with Sinton about the Lloyd effort in the first half, for me that was a poor touch, not a good save. The header from Frey was tame, and the 2nd half shot from Smyth was again weak. Like most it is a friendly and got to look at it like that. But we have Brighton next week, and if we do go into WBA not scoring in 4 games it is not great |

Hard to tell on aphone screen here but looks typical pre season fayre. The back four look totally redundant in that first half and just basically going for a nice trot. Smyth is again our best player for me, looked good against Spurs as well. Against the Reading school boys back line, I would have hoped to have done a little more Can see Celar getting the whole 2nd half here. |

Will miss this, a family holiday in a Park Dean resort with the Krazy Krew.... and if I hear the little shark song one more time I might flip.... so while the family are enjoying an afternoon making Squidgis (don't ask) and meeting Professor Slome, yes slime does have a PHd, I will try and watch it on the dodgy wi-fi in some corner of the showboat restaurant....after I have a fun filled extravaganza of Kids Karaoke followed by bingo ga-ga Durdle Door yesterday was good though As for the result...is it important.... but 3-3 .....or perhaps 1-2..... no wait .....4-0..... no sod it .......coming dear are the kids wanting to meet Paw Patrol characters on the sun deck? I was quite impressed with what I saw from those park matches to think he definitely as something about him Yesterday he came on and not surprisingly he wasn't as effective against better players. What I still liked about him was he is very direct, physically very mature and is always wanting to be in the game.. and that was impressive for me. I'm not sure if there will be room for him this year in the squad but I think he could be something special. Very impressed with Lloyd though.. he is some unit |

I gave mine to a young family in front as I look like rainman in mine..... I tend to sport a rather fetching cuckaburra for the sunny days. And my 10 year old plus wolly Rs hat for the less sunny days. |

First off get the moany old git part finished....never ever ever play at loftus road not in hoops....took me an to work out who to support. I'm pretty meh about pre season games but really enjoying this one even though we are one down. Getting the goal over with, total class............Bissouma is without doubt the best player on the park so far........now we are giving the Spurs a run out, think as as thank you they could give him to us on a season loan As for us well I like the keeper, great distribution and 2 good saves. But also as it's quite quiet here you can hear him giving orders, a good buy Was a bit of a shock that Dunne was made captain I thought that Cook had that hands down. As for Cook what a defender! Hopefully we can keep him fit for the most of the season . Spurs though a great high press and we have dealt with it pretty well. Midfield I think we are looking a little light with Sam and Illy but any midfield that is opposing Bisouma is going to struggle. Smyth as looked good in patches and Kolli is not looking out of place which is a good thing. Only real issue for me is Frey............not held it up really well or imposed himself.........but give the benefit here All in all most enjoyable................ |

I'd like to see Bennie squeezed somewhere in there.Know the lad is only 17 but he did look useful in those park games recently Be interesting if he gets a run out today. Can't believe getting ready to get to the game.... close season seems to get shorter as the years go by |

Lad took another 5 fer.... so 12 for very few at Lords is not a bad test debut. Granted it was a poor Windies side. When you think of those teams from the 70s and 80s how far they have lagged behind |

I was thinking exactly the same when watching the game but didn't want to say anything as it was basically a kick about. But that miss of his was shocking and apart from the goal, which he did take, and the pass toChair.... really did very little. But take Bennie who is just 17 and looks to be a real find.... I apologise in advanced but the last 2 threads I have posted a pun thread... and we won ... so without further ado This winning games is getting very moorish Let's hope the Spanish won't be in position And at the end of the game we could be Basqueing in glory Which would be very Spain-ful for them And they ara-gon. And when the time is up it will adios omegas for the Spanish I take no responsibility for the above.............and the actual score.... whew Heart says its got to be a win, that Spain will come at us which may play in our hands, but worried about their wingers and our wing backs...hate to say this but think they will beat us But something else I never thought I say.... think Southgate was superb last night, so Gareth one more game, and you can leave as the most successful manager we have ever had |
