If true this will be a big blow

He is, you could see he was hurt, he was quite tentative a lot of the time after he did it too. It's a real shame for Charlie, he's done so well...like has been said even if we get someone else in who knows if they'll hit the ground running like Charlie has

R's may now go the extra few yards to get Belfodil.

Need 2 strikers now guys, not 1 just in case

Need 4 like any other decent Championship club.

Why did we let 'Arry sign 5,231 midfielders and just the one striker?

Amateurs; the lot of 'em...

Can we go out yet?

Fecking brilliant news made my flecking week

I did my shoulder Oct 2012 broke it but didn't know till the following day still fecked now

Why have we been dicking around for the month looking at basically squad players , we all have known since the start of the season we need cover for Austin so the night before the window shuts we get news like this fecking brilliant

My list would be

Matt fryatt similar sort of player to Charlie and would hit the ground running
Bechio can hold the ball up won't be anywhere near match fit
Vaughn from Huddersfield Lacey holds the ball up not first choice at the moment maybe tempted
Le fondre scores for fun always has should have bought him a year or so ago
Wickham young paces inexperienced

Everyone's top choice Jordan Rhodes but that price has just gone up by a a few million or more with tonight's news
Sorry tony it's stick or twist time don't spend a large wedge on a decent English ideally striker and hopefully keep second place or go cheap and take a risk in the play offs

The criticism of the business the club did in the Summer is almost total unjustified. We shipped out 20 players and replaced them with 12, who were, no doubt, cheaper. That cut 15m off an unsustainable wage bill.

Of course it wasn't perfect. It was never likely to be.

We knew that relying on Austin and 2 crocks was a risk, but what else were we supposed to do? And I share the concerns that Austin's injury is a major blow. I'm not sure what we can do to overcome this one.

The right players? A loan for an unproven striker in Italy and another noones heard of? I'm glad you think that's the right sort of player.

Yeah great we'll go and buy 3 tomorrow, if it's so easy why has it taken all 31 days of jan when others have got it done quicker

And with mata I'm sure irons were in the fire for a while , but the main deal was done in days, even moyes said he was surprised how quick it was done.

I'm sure the extra well now pay in transfer fees is also part of the planning right?

it's the same every year, deals get dragged out as agents and players weight up their options and look to get every penny they can then in the last 24 hours they have no choice and the deal gets done quickly.

Mata deal involved plenty of third party agents to speed the deal through in the end but all clubs find it hard to get deals done this time of year, we won't be the only ones shopping last minute

I've no idea if the Brazilian kid is any good, never heard of him before but if he's who they wanted then hopefully he's alright

A real blow this, but frankly it was only a matter of time something like this would happen to our ace in the pack, the lone striker who is no stranger to that exclusive institution, Club Injuries, especially with regards to his iffy shoulders. Alas, it could be a lot worse. We could be in a current position with no fit striker looking at League One, then there would be real reason to panic.

Hope things are not too serious and he will be back sooner rather than later.

There aint half been some clever bastards.

I think in light of this news a few things come to mind.

1. Perhaps we don't need to worry about the expense of a Premiership season ticket next year.
2. We've wasted a lot of time and money not cloning Austin. It could be cheaper than thought given the advances of 3D printers.
3. We obviously need to sign more defensive midfielders.
4. This is a time for Zamora to step up and be inevitably only be able to jump high enough to hook his wages.

Dislocated shoulder showed up on a scan, original injury back in 2011, dislocated three times before the Hull transfer went wrong....Yup.
Tough Dude! He holds a congratulating hands and says leave the pats out after getting the goal on Saturday.
How he managed to get above the defenders with a destroyed and dislocated shoulder....to get that leap above and down to the keepers feet!

no, the Hull medical was failed on an old knee operation which Hull claim they hadn't been told about Austin claimed it was when he was 14 and he's forgotten about it.

This new injury was just a freak one really due to a bad landing
