Also a word of praise for BFG just doing what he's good at, nothing fancy, no 50 yard cross field passes to Manning, just big brave and strong. Yes, Lumley has had a few slightly dodgy games but he put in a strong, confident and safe performance and that save was simply superb and will do wonders for his confidence. A well deserved win and a top class all round team performance. Great to come away from the ground with a smile on my face. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 18:59:10 I don't think anyone was expecting much but this was just dreadful. In my 47 years supporting R's I have never given any manager any real stick but when is everyone in the football world going to realise that Harry R is an old school manger who simply can't build or motivate a team. I was delighted when he came here two years ago but apart from moving on the dead wood what has he really achieved - apart from bringing in more dead wood !!. He's regarded as a hero for getting us promoted but let's be fair, we should have walked into the Prem last year and were lucky to get over the line. R's will never move forward while Harry is in charge and we're heading for a very rapid return the Championship. And as for Hoilett (or should it be Toilet !!) he has never produced anything of note for Rangers and, together with several others, should be banished forever. Notwithstanding all that, I'll be there as usual cheering and supporting the team against Man U. |
| Your Report | Oldham Athletic v Salford City Your Report added at 22:25:43 Firstly, let me say that I've missed only a handful of home games since 1967 and in that time have, with a couple of notable exceptions, always supported our manager and blamed poor performances on the players. But ........ Harry couldn't keep us up last year and, with some justification, blamed the players he inherited but, when you really think about it, he didn't really make any positive impression and we were relegated with precious little fight. He cleared most of the dross out but has brought in another load of big names who well past their best and when you couple this to his illogical tactics I have to ask if we've actually gone backwards or forwards in the past 12 months. Anyone has a pair of eyes in their head can see that Harry and his seemingly clueless coaching team have completely lost the plot and they clearly don't know what, or who, to try next. Promotion is clearly off the agenda now and it's clear that if by some quirk of the play-off's we do get promoted, we'll be going up with a worse squad that we have when NW took us up in 2011, this worries me more than having another year, or three, in the Championship. I suppose Harry will lumber along for the rest of this season and pick up a few wins on the way and he can keep on blaming injuries for what will end up being a dreadful season rather than his awful planning and player selection. Surely he should then go and leave us to start again with a younger and more technically astute manager who will hopefully believe in our youngsters and start building something positive for the future. A repeat of the recent dismal performances against Leeds and it could get very nasty for Harry ........... Our supporters and Mr Fernandes deserve better than this !! |
