You can see clearly that the energy levels were raised from the previous games. Good to see we were hungry to win the ball back and played some nice stuff especially in the second half. Not to sure why many on here got carried away with previous friendlies, it has to be about fitness and working towards Aug 6th. Saturday we can step it up another notch. Villarreal would be a good test before our game the following Saturday at Spurs. Got to say ( I know its early days) I do like the look of Aribo. |

Joe Egg- I get your comment regarding the coaching staff, yes! I agree they do have something to prove but Ralph in my view has absolutely nothing to prove.
How this man has kept us in this league is unbelievable, remember he took over from Mark Hughes when we at that time were in the bottom three. Our owner then until recently had zero input into the club, hence the loans etc.. We now have a structure in place that we can move forward, give him a chance, get behind the club and support them, not all this negativity rubbish I keep reading. Like Nick says there are other clubs out there for all you doom and gloom activist to support. |

People on here like stating facts... Well, what I can tell you for a fact is that Ralph has kept us in the EPL again. The fact is Ralph has done this with very limited support or finance, yet you scream for his head! What I saw when Ralph came over to the fans on Sunday was fans appreciating what Ralph has done over the few years also fans knowing what is realistic. What I think is Ralph deserves to take us into the new season, give him some coaching support and money to spend. If we are still going backwards at christmas then I'll drive him to the airport myself..! |

Very good analyse Nick, however a mention to our manager who I personally think we are lucky to have. This man has bought into the club (the Southampton way if you like) had to somehow balance the books while keeping us in this league. Most managers I see as journey managers, they will jump ship at the first sign of a pound note. I dont see this with Ralph, what I saw against Spurs at the end of the game was a manager of our club fist pumping his chest, standing tall and proud of his team, fans to a man on there feet applauding. For some doubters this isn't enough calling for Frank Lampard or Eddie Howe!
Me, I'm a realist and proud to call Ralph our manager of our great club.
