Hello Dale fans

We had a meeting yesterday down at the club - I voiced that the manner in which the fans were taken out were thuggish and plain wrong this was also a concern for the club however there is also point to note here that according to SUFC the two people thrown out in the first incident are known to Greater Manchester Police for causing trouble up your end (assuming that's your controlling force?) that's what I have been told SUFC were told by police intelligence.

This however does not make it right in the manner they were taken out also the question was raised why was no first aid called or required if the person was dragged along the floor in such manner? If a person refuses to leave and gives resistance the security can use any force necessary to remove.

There are ongoing internal meetings in the club and I have been told letters have come in from dale fans that will be responded too in due course.

Any more and I will update you

Passion my friend, something lacking in todays sit down happy clappy football!

The Europeans the South Americans get it right with displays streamers banners colours passion and atmosphere!

Laugh all you like but you cant deny that most clubs support are bland and drab and a key factor as well as pricing why attendances at some clubs are not so great!

You say caused a riot I did not see many dale fans get stuck in to help the fella!

words are words and thats all they are if you take it further by throwing something or trying to gain access then you cross the line.

But like I have said before I dont agree with the heavy handed way your guy was taken out

Yeah I agree with you that our stewarding was too heavy handed!

We are looking at doing what we did before however there are costs involved regarding exits and toilets etc... suffice to say the club is working on it

My age? 27 whats wrong with that? I was thrown out the boys brigade for eating all the boys!

Southend is my life love it! as I am sure Rochdale is yours!

Yes coin throwing was after but like I have said you lost the high ground after that.

From what I could see and pushing most of our fans back myself none got up onto it so you on have my angle to go on, I would have thought you would have had a more broad view.

Personally I think it adds more spice the setup like it is, for bigger games we are moved back round to our west stand.

Right guys I have just come over from ShrimperZone the Southend forum, I am the large rotund gentleman with no shirt and the drum.

1st off no Southend fan got up onto the netting, granted they approached it but never climbed onto it

secondly there are 2 sides to every story I will admit that the manner in which your fan was ejected looked VERY physical and harsh so I do think you guys have a case there HOWEVER you have really lost the moral high ground when the young lad right on the corner back row next to the segregation with the fila patch on his arm decided to throw a 1p coin that hit one of our young lads on the arm, you could say well no harm done but I have seen first hand what damage spinning a coin at somebody can do and you can get sliced up quite bad from what essentially is a shard of metal!

Also another poster asked why we share that end with away fans now, since time and memorial we use to have the whole of that stand and away fans would be up the other end but during the 90s this changed (wrongly)
We have worked hard with the club to share that stand due to the awesome and I mean awesome acoustics it has! I recall times when 30/40 Macclesfield fans have made same noise that sounded like 500! all thanks to a low barreled iron roof.

I don't think anybody can deny the noise and atmosphere improvement its made to our ground.

In closing have a good season but two wrongs don't make a right in this case you cant really expect much sympathy from Southend fans after coin throwing.

anyway here is to the season!
