Lots of good perspective from both sides of the argument.

At the end of the day it will be all about how he ends the season and running the ruler over him just as we would a new signing (with the advantage he’s ours already). The whole point of the loan is for him to grow, improve and show his true level. We’ll certainly find out when he comes back.

Hope the lad finishes the season strong and makes the step up for us.

Rick Buckler RIP
at 09:58 19 Feb 2025

Sad news and as said earlier an integral part of this tight band (even with the presence of Weller and Foxton out front). Only 69, young these days and thoughts with all his family, but what an incredible legacy in era defining music he created and left for all to enjoy.
RIP Rick.

Celar?

There’s very little choice to be fair. Nobody else would want him based on his performances and now his recovery from a serious injury.
OK, he did something in his last couple of games but he was miles behind on his performances (only just surpassed in the poor performance stakes by Madsen who is looking a completely hopeless case).
We just have to put him back into training, introduce him from the bench if he’s interested and see what we get. Will be interesting to see if he’s up for it now. Only other choice is to loan him out.

Respect your right to an opinion WWC but … Cook and Dunne are out of contract at season end, so no money back there; if Smyth and Field are as poor as you say who will offer anything reasonable to take them off our hands?
So … who do you, in your opinion, think we should bring in to replace them with that is better. Based on the few coppers we will have in the piggy bank from dumping these four.

Great result tonight and terrific all-round performance from the lads.
Pleased to see Ilias back on the scoresheet; Saito deserving of a goal with recent performances.
Could have been a “banana skin” but we stick it to them and made a real dent in our goal difference.
Well done Martí and the boys. Time for a celebration

Sounds to me like Martí plans to run his eye over him through the summer and then it’ll be down to the management team and board (and the player to a degree as it would seem a win-win for Charlie) to work out the best value option for the club. I’m sure Martí will want to see how, as a 23 year old, he measures up to Kolli and Lloyd (let alone Celar and Frey).
Always good to have the opportunity and choice from the clubs perspective though.

Did Nardi Cost us the point?
at 13:41 12 Feb 2025

Nardi has saved many a point/points in games this season. Picking him out now seems very harsh.
We had our chances through the game and didn’t take them; if we did we would have been well clear at the 95th minute.
Glad we have Nardi in the team, he’s been a breath of fresh air and key to our defence. Great shot stopper, often good distribution and vocal.
