Good to see so many teams coming unstuck with this yesterday.
You would think people would cotton on that they don’t all have to copy Guardiola.
About time this fad came to an end.

Alfred House from the local press claims we are receiving a 7-figure fee now, with future sell-on clauses.
Hopefully he will do a Dibling and return to us.
He also mentions that we sold defender Max Alleyne to City in 2021 for £1.5 million.

I don’t think it would make any difference in the 95th minute.
If we had left 2 on the halfway line, I think Ipswich would have just left them there unmarked.
I saw a stat somewhere that teams were more likely to concede a goal from their own corner than score one; not sure how true that is….. |

Hang on.
I’m far from a Boscombe fan, but they were completely robbed of a win against Newcastle with a disallowed injury time winner, which the refs union lot have admitted was the wrong decision. It was ridiculous TBF.
That would have put them on 7 points.
They were unlucky against Chelsea.
They’re a very good team; we will have to put in our best performance of the season to just get one point out of this game. |

I had forgotten we only got 25 points last time 
What a shower of shite that season really was.
One of our big problems this season is that our best players excluding the keeper appear to either be less than 21 years old or in their late 30's, added to the fact none of them appear to be able to last 90 minutes in a game.
If the manager can change his ways (signs of that against Ipswich), we may do better than the Opta prediction.
But I wouldn't bet big on it. |

It was basically down to two things:-
- being an impressionable 6 year-old seeing Mick Channon do the windmill celebration on The Big Match. I was asked around that time by my Mum if I wanted an England kit or a Saints kit as a birthday present, and I chose Saints. Funnily enough, Bournemouth wasn't an option. I didn't start going to watch them until I was 8 or 9.

At the risk of stating the blindingly obvious......
This is all going to be determined by our League position in January.
If we are looking like we are going to need snookers to stay up, it is going to be nigh on impossible to sign anybody half-decent. They simply won't want to sign for us, fearing relegation clauses etc.
Which is when you end up with gash like Sulemana and Onuachu as in Jan 2023.
January is such a tough window.
And of course we will have to factor in the PSR / FFP rules. Our spending will be heavily constrained by that, unless we can get unwanted players out of the door. |
