If it is to be believed, the article below has surfaced in the last few hours in the Express and the Mirror online editions. It appears Dragan Solak is ready to pull the trigger but the oaf Ankersen is still supporting RM. Sounds like Solak is almost as fed up with Ankersen as he is with Martin. I honestly don’t think it would be bad for SFC if Solak pulled the plug on Ankersen as I feel he has done far more harm than good to our Club since he walked through the door.
The article reads as follows:
Russell Martin's position as Southampton manager is increasingly under threat following the club's dismal start to the season. Despite leading the Saints to promotion via the Championship play-offs last season, the 38-year-old now finds his team languishing in the Premier League relegation zone, having failed to secure a win in their first six matches.
With just one point ahead of this weekend's clash with title contenders Arsenal, another poor result could push Martin closer to the exit during the upcoming international break. While Martin has some credit for last season's promotion, scrutiny is mounting.
Saints owner Dragan Solak is reportedly unimpressed with the results, putting Martin in a precarious situation. As reported by talkSPORT, there is division among the top brass at St Mary's over Martin.
While Solak is concerned about the results, sporting director Rasmus Ankerson, who brought Martin in as head coach last summer, still supports him. However, it's suggested that Ankerson himself is also under scrutiny from Solak, who took over the club in January 2022.
Southampton are currently the lowest-scoring team in the Premier League, having netted just three goals in six games. In contrast, Arsenal have scored 12 goals in the same number of matches and remain undefeated as they pursue their first title in over two decades. |

Thread | Archer transfer in possible breach of FIFA rules!

OK, here we go, it appears that the Cameron Archer transfer may breach a FIFA rule on ‘bridge transfers’ that being where a player is purchased by a club and then sold again inside a 16 week period, therefore making it impossible for a player to come into and go out of the same club in the same transfer window when transferred on both occasions, not loaned (does not affect loan deals). In this instance Villa had a contractual obligation to buy Archer back as Sheffield United were relegated so this is a double transfer in about the space of seven weeks or thereabouts. FIFA rules state 16 weeks minimum.
Could possibly get interesting as this is not a breach of PL rules but is a breach of FIFA rules, but, FIFA rules trump FA / PL rules hands down. It all depends if the FIFA disciplinary panel have got their blinkers on when dealing with this or will listen to a reasoned argument primarily from Villa I would think. See the article below.

Just to prepare you all, especially those who are easily shocked, Saints are wearing their understated new pink kit tonight v Lazio at SMS. Also a heads up for Pat and/or FranniesTache as it should give you a chance to prepare an appropriate song to fully convey to the club our appreciation and heartfelt thanks for enabling us to see our team dressed as a Barbie tribute act.
It might actually be worth an early goal for us - never mind tippy tappy, launch it up to BBD and he can run in and score whilst the Lazio players are still pi@@ing themselves laughing 😂 ⚽️🙃 |

Thread | Pubs charging to watch Euro Final

Just been listening to Radio 2 whilst sat in traffic and they had a feature on about the Euro Final on Sunday. It started off talking about an event in Brighton where a fan zone has cancelled all the free tickets sent out for the final and are now reselling new tickets charging to get in to watch the game as England are in the final. Turns out from the listeners responses that a lot of pubs are doing the same. So, just a heads up for all UI’s out there, if you are planning to watch the game in your local just check it is not an all ticket event, and if it is, it hasn’t sold out! |
