You clearly didn't see how our cleverly interchanging midfield took the game to them, got the lead and earned us the right to play a controlled defensive set-up, marshalled by the commanding Bennett. |

A breath of fresh air. The whole matchday experience is enhanced massive-fold by Trunds and even KO'L And agree with Tenby, he lost the plot a tad near the end, but 9/10 makes the right calls |

Maybe re-watch the game, and re-assess. May not be so obvious to the passive onlooker, but we are looking to drive on from our outstanding run-in. Bennett has injected some steel and a rock solid foundation which the whole team is benefiting from. Most especially our midfield is far more fluid, the middle 3 are constantly interchanging, with Grimes far more advanced. This is already paying dividends and when they gel, this creative, dynamic set-up will be more than a handful for most opponents. We took the game to Bristol on their patch. We stoically defended in a controlled, no panic way (Roberts' gaffe aside). Perspective and an unbiased lens is all it takes to See. |

Bale, 2018 Champions League final goals and win, for being a proud welshman sticking 2 fingers up to Zidane and all 'em others. |

He's almost a carbon copy of Bamford. Works hard, strong, athletic, intelligent and is hungry to succeed. Bamford took the knocks and look at him now. Needs a good stint to gel and boost confidence. Pity no other scandics here to help the gelling process. |

Interestingly we looked far more sorted when Fulton bossed the middle, Grimes and Smith pushed on and we could have brushed them aside of we had a Rhian. Smith became largely anonymous in that formation, we couldn't capitalise and we lost the momentum. Palmer may have been what we needed at that time. Fulton deserves a start. Manning and Joel L should also start. |

Given the below par performance, expecting quite a few changes. He may even revert to type with his favoured 4 at the back and will want to get Bennett and Manning embedded as quickly as possible. Joel L can play anywhere along the backline and he may also be fast-tracked into the side. The sooner we get a solid spine, the sooner we can settle again into our style and adapt formation as needs be. |

Agreed. For me the modus operandi ought to be: - We're in the Club bar, having a few pints, talking football and other stuff - posters should only post what they would be man or woman (etc) enough to say face to face. Pretty sure some of the stuff some of the posters say, wouldn't be said in that setting (but we are a million miles away from where we were before, thanks to Keith, Loyal et al) Maybe Jack 24/7 has gone part-time and is now only 9-5 (Jack59) ? |

Bit lacklustre, intensity levels subdued. Spine was ragged not rugged - Woodman needs to be more imposing and commanding - missed Joe, and Cabango kept misplacing his long passes - Grimes wasn't at the races (West Ham-itis?) - Ayew, off and on (West Brom-itis ?) Vik did some good stuff, Guehi was solid, Palmer could put himself about and a deft touch Hudds were so very up for this - Winter-itis ? |
| Forum Reply | Joe Rodon speculation is accurate : *Update*West Ham prepared to step in at 20:50 7 Oct 2020
He should stay, for him and us right now. However if he did go for good dosh, we could actually kick on if Cooper and Scott work their magic. - Rodon's key attribute is his physicality and defensive solidity. Cabango can do this. - Get a ball-playing, driving CH (a la Beckenbauer) - and some options up top |

Talking of which, it's a pleasure watching Spain vs Portugal. We (Swans) played a lot like Spain are playing tonight, sublime, fluid stuff. And so uplifting to see the crowds back in the stadium. |

Don't think anybody's saying he's god's gift. It's about perspective. Don't understand why some posters are so firmly entrenched in their views, always harking back, instead of simply recognising where we are now and going with the flow. This is a Cooper In thread. Your comments are more fitting to the old Cooper Out thread elsewhere. |
